That's interesting Jagdpanzer. GTL doesn't have a controller config screen per-say so I assume it relies on windows controller configuration. GP4 on the other hand does allow you to configure the controllers range so this would suggest a software problem. Have you made a new control set using GP4? In GP4 Under Options -> Controllers there's a 'User Set' list with 'by Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
I'll second that post that qwerty sent in. That machine looks like a pretty quick machine with quality parts and with the screen speakers mouse etc etc is very very good value at that price. Bare in mind that that includes VAT. You'll be able to run something like Doom3/Quake at 1024x768 with some AA at a decent frame rate. GP4 ought to run at 1280x1024 with some AA and a reasonable frby Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
This sort of thing can be hardware related. I stumbled upon a lot of threads about this lately. This one applies to the logitech momo but I dare say the same sort of thing is common to many brands: And one of many fixes illustrated here shows what I mean: @Jagdpanzer: I seem to recall many many months ago you used a button on your steering wheel for accelearting/braking. I found that once the object is exported as a gp4 and then that gp4 opened in 3Deditor, I can align the object onto itself and then export it to zmoddler. It seems to show up fine in Zmoddler 3D view then. You can always realign it back to the original object again when you reimport it into your track. This method is only from memory though. It may differ slightly. Hope this helps. Regaby Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
That just alters the circuits pit speed limit doesn't it? But maybe if you set the limit to 80kmh the car will go straight from 0-80. Perhaps... Regards, Mr Pibbby Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
Thanks nicol@cciarri The problem was in the way I had 'saved' my wheel for use in 3Deditor. Sorted now. Thanks again. Regards, Mr Pibb.by Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
Thanks for the advice gentlemen. The alpha layers make no difference no matter what I do with them. Black, white, grey, all the same result. As per the picture. Any further ideas anyone? BTW - how are you supposed to save anything with gp4 genius? There's no 'save' function. The 'export' function appears to do nothing. Anyone? Regards, Mr Pibb.by Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
Thanks Harry. Regards, Mr Pibbby Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
That sounds perfect Harry. But the link doesn't work... Regards, Mr Pibb.by Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
Hi there. I decided to give steering wheel making a go. I used the standard gp4 one as a starting point but when I (finally) got it into 3DEditor and saved it then reinstalled it, I got this... Any ideas anyone? Regards, Mr Pibb.by Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
Recieved with many thanks Renault Fan Regards, Mr Pibb.by Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
Renault Fan, could you send that to me at this address: gn@schuff.fsnet.co.uk too please? I wanted to use the newly released Minardi wheel by Stifflers Mum as a generic wheel, but sadly it doesn't show all the driving aids. So I decided to edit it so it would display all the driving aids.by Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
Check out GPxSAT in GPxPatch. There's a 'Show in Cockpit' tick box and a whole section on replacing sky messages. Regards, Mr Pibbby Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
They're ready to go really, but I've not written to Erwin yet about putting them in his X-Tracks project because I'm a lazy ***** basically. In the meantime, you can get them here: . please note there are subfolders within the zip file. Tobacco and NT textures included. Also, Regards, Mr Pibb.by Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
Sorry Wilb. Haven't heard much from you lately in the forums. Thought you might be on holiday or something Do you want me to add them for you? or would you prefer I send you the file? Regards, Mr Pibbby Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
Oops, I think you're right - I certainly misunderstood the question! You will still need to append some GP4info to the dat with name and country prefixes though, because editing the GP2001English.gps only changes the track name to a certain extent. The grid cars screen and some of the screens you see when you press escape during game play are not affected by GP2001English.gps file. Alsby Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
Tony, I've successfully renamed a lot of my track wad files, including naming shangai as shangai.wad. All I've ever done (apart from the renaming mentioned above within the wad file itself) is append some GP4info to the dats and added extra .anm's to my anim.wad and I find I can load them from any slot I like within GPxTrack no problems. I've never needed to hack the exe at alby Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
Great stuff Tony. @Willb: I guess the answer to your question is yes! The stands come from standard GP4 game, although I've modified them quite a bit to fit the muppets in. The textures themselves are a combination of standard GP4 and some I've made myself. The muppets originally came from Erwins X-Tracks project and can be used without permission providing credit is given to the X-by Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
A Karan19: They're placed into each track gp4 together with their tex files in the wad. Same tex files for all wads. NT are included as extras. They're very easy to insert. One insertion and all 22 stands and all muppets are there, in the right place, rotation, height etc. I have made easy instructions with diagrams in jpg format if you're interested. @Laguna: Check your pby Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
No jim, Put them in a new scene. I've tested this a lot, never had any problems at all. Then, delete the old ones and you're done. There's only one file to insert into your track.gp4, and all 22 stands come in at once in correct location, rotation, height etc. I've made full instructions in jpg format too for anyone at all to understand. Hey! Thanks Hagi and Steven!! I'll get in touch with Erwin and see about adding them to X-Tracks. And of course Hagi gets his creit! Regards,by Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
Hmm true depth eh... Sounds encouraging! So they go out of sync? It's nothing to do with a conflict with the screens refresh rate is it? And thanks Pankykapus! Regards, Mr Pibbby Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
Greg, do you get a noticable flickering effect? I remember using glasses like these with the old Sega Master System (late eighties/early nineties) and the flickering drove me crazy. It was running at only 50Hz back then though. Does GP4 really look 3D with these on? Regards, Mr Pibbby Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
It was my birthday recently. My girlfriend asked me what I'd like, so naturally I asked for a Ferrari. Sadly she seemed to think that I was making some sort of joke. So I said I'd settle for a pair of 3D glasses. Here's a link to what I'm on about: But first, I want to know what they're like with GP4. Has anyone actually used them in GP4? Regards,by Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
What could be a useful program is one allows the addition of extra tracks to be incorporated in a seasons results spread sheet. By this I mean that if I run this new program, it would automatically read the current points standings for all drivers/constructors and display it like a spread sheet. But it would also have space in it for the new tracks (in correct order of course). Then the user cby Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
What's the most amount of barrel rolls you've managed? I find it hard to get a good barrel roll going. Does anyone have some good tips, perhaps a particuly nasty kerb or something somewhere that's great to barrel roll over? What do you think of a barrel roll video comp? Evil thought.... @Erwin_78, I've sent you a PM. They look rather default because they ARE the default stands! But they look better than bare ones, and could do until the new ones are ready. (?) In the meantime, I'd be more than pleased to help out with the new ones, but don't want to double-up on something someone else is already doing. Regards, Mr Pibb.by Mr Pibb - Grand Prix 4
Thanks for the nice comments everyone. I'm thrilled that you like you like them Steven! They look a lot better when the pitlane isn't as wide as it is at the oval. @Ruboy: I've added them to my own Shangai track, no problems encountered at all. @Fongu: I know the paint jobs are cr*p.
