Thanks for the exceptional 1994 mod. Raises the bar yet again. Another astounding effort. (And as rracunis said, thx for the clarification above).by Noog - Grand Prix 4
You can find it here, like most things: FAQby Noog - Grand Prix 4
The game only supports up to 17 track slots and the championship mode is also limited to 17 slots or less, but yes, all mods work in much the same way - so if you really want a season with 50 tracks in it, just play in non-championship mode and record your results in a spreadsheet or something. Finally, my advice to you would be this: If in doubt, try it out! What's the worst that can hapby Noog - Grand Prix 4

It doesn't matter where you put them, you just need to get them out of the way to be able to drop JC's .dat and .wad into their place. Then, if all goes well, you can delete the old 2001 dat and wad file for Melbourne if you want. (You will learn by experience. It doesn't take long, but these first steps are often the most difficult. And just to check, have you have installeby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Dude. If you've downloaded J Caranti's Melbourne 2014 (which is one of the ones you want, yes?), he has a simple four line explanation of how to install it in the Readme.txt in the track rar file. Just so you know, TSM is just one way to install a track, but he's not telling you to use that. He's just laying in out in the readme: do this do that etc. As easy as it can be...by Noog - Grand Prix 4
Hey Aymeric; rather than resurrecting old posts to ask the same question and/or make the same point over and over, you might find you get more success if make one new post and ask for specific tracks. Until recently gp4db.com was the primary repository but it is gone now and we've not really got reorganised yet. For now, take a look at this thread.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
That seems to happen for some people. Not sure what the answer is, but if you download this alternative installation package instead you shouldn't face that issue. For any other problems, check the information link on that page.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
Responses to second post: > even a difference that seems slight like 850 vs 853 bhp (engine power) in fact means quite a lot in the way of how one car is faster than another Yep. This is why in my PFCalculator, I allocate power on the basis of championship points scored by each car, BUT I feed those values back into the grip in a negative way to re-balance things. Great to see this post circulating again. I still stand by everything I wrote in the OP, but the truth is I only use the Bellini patch very rarely these days. Well no, actually that's not true. I ALWAYS use it for EVERY PF but I leave it set to the default 16384 and only change it if I come across a track that just can't be calibrated accurately 'the proper way', ie with tby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Still no responses Michael? Ok then, here's one of the answers you were looking for: This excerpt from one of my PFs demonstrates how to create car specific (rather than team specific) R power, Q power and failure rates. Try this: In game: OPTIONS > GRAPHICS > ADVANCED > on the left, set to MANUAL, HIGH, HIGH, HIGH and HIGHEST. (If your pit crews disappear, change HIGHEST to HIGH) If that doesn't fix the white cars, open f1graphics.cfg (in game folder) and check the first line. Sounds like an excellent idea klausfeldmann. A friend and I were discussing 'dirty air' the other day (ie how it's more obvious in some mods than others), but we never made the connection to the so-called slipstream effect. I've a feeling you're absolutely right though; so thanks for the insight. I'm now wondering if desc=45 or 46 (drag and player downforce) orby Noog - Grand Prix 4
The data lives in the track.DAT. However, to edit it, you need to change it into a text format. So here's what you do: 1. Get cmagic4.exe 2. Drop cmagic4.exe into the folder where your circuit DATs are (either /gp4/ or gp4/circuits probably). 3. Double click cmagic4.exe 4. Browse to the track dat in the GP4 Track file area 5. Then, from the Cmagic4 menu, select "createby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Then you need to do what turbolover said. Set the spin recovery range to 4 for each track. Default is about 64 and it's always too high. 4 is plenty. Just above spin recovery range in the MD file you'll see 'cc error chance' too. That defaults to about 80 on most tracks, but you can take that down to zero if you want.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
Well in that case, you could try this one.. I assumed you'd already be using it, because I think it's a more recent release, which is why I suggested the other one last time.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
You're welcome. Just a thought: are you using the 1993 mod from TomMKs site? If not, I'd recommend it.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
Hmm... Are you sure the cars are actually crashing, i.e. not just running out of fuel, or breaking down from some other problem? And this problem is happening all tracks, right? It's a very strange thing and I'm running out of ideas. What happens if you try to use the GP4.exe file from another mod? OK. Thanks. Looks like the performance file might be to blame. I'm not sure, but it looks very suspicious (and illogical) to me: Replace the values marked in bold to something more sensible: Name=Sauber,Ilmor Performance=680,760,4500 First Driver=29,Karl Wendlinger,14590,700,15400,1000,AT Second Driver=30,J.J. Seems to me 2gb of free storage would be a great way to help backup/preserve (and find) all the small things we all need (apps/tweaks and maybe PF files and MD files etc). As for the mods, we are still quite well served by Tom's site and Mediafire, but I was wondering about archive.org too? They seem to have a lot of space we could use. Your problem seems very strange to me, (I would have gone with what Turbo Lover recommended), but: Surely, the question you need to be asking is why are so many cars leaving the track? Does it happen at every track in 93 or just one/some of them? If it's all of them, are you using one performance file for all the races, or do you have a different one for each race? It's very easy to miss those little errors in the names. I can't see your pics, but I find that some RF mirror glasses convert easily while others don't (as you say, they are kind of frosty and the reflections are messed up) - and when they don't work I tend to import a basic GP4 set (ie square or circular, depending on what I need), that I keep in my 'parts bin'by Noog - Grand Prix 4
