Anyone tried cockpit texture included?by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
@ chet This is NT version, regular car will follow later :-Pby bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
Sauber is installed in slot 6, shape name is Sauber. So, for all of you who don't want Sauber in slot 6, open Team editor and change carshapes in carshapes tab. For example, chose back Jordan in slot 6, and chose Sauber for other slot you want.by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
@ mad otter ...and Mckey :-Pby bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
Already after 3 minutes you managed to install it and check it out?by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
Believe it or not, but it's online. Thank you all for contributing with photos, now you can grab the car here and have fun:by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
Little update about progress; we had a problem with clipping, unfortunately, from far away some inner faces of the tip of the nose could be seen; Mckey said he's going to fix it, but that was long time ago so who knows what is he really doingby bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
The car is now completly finished, as soon as Mckey finishes lower LODs, car will be online. As far as I know he won't spent to much effort into lods, so I guess car will be online by the end of the week. Few more screens before release:by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
Maybe in next release, that is complicated for various reasons and requires much more work. The tip of the nose, which is missing on above pictures is part of wing object. After heavy crashes, you can still lose nose cone object.by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
I'm afraid we don't have that saved anywhere anymore. It wasn't very realistic anyway. @ mckey You messed alpha channels on screenshotsby bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
I think it'll look something like this when you lose half or whole wing:by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
Thanks to all. It seems there's a really simply solution which might give realistic results. If few polygons from the tip of the nose are assigned to front wing objects, if you lose a wing, those poloygons will go away with the wing, leaving a hole on the nose, as seen on real pictures above.by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
Indeed, it's not perfect, but we'll improve it. Thanks Kev188, for that picture, it's very helpfull.by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
This is what are we doing right now; crash model is very wip, and I'm not quite happy with "crashed" texture, but you'll get the idea. Mckey is still working on it, I don't know how far he got with it. Does anobody have a picture of Sauber with crashed nose? Perhaps from previous seasons?by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
Few renders for you, while you're waiting. You'll have to admit they're amazing, curtesy of Marco van der Veld. Of course, model isn't bad eitherby bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
Indeed, there should be a line in f1graphics.cfg forcing only best mipmaps. But that's also PO killer.by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
Lower mip-maps might be low quality, especially if generated with gp4 master. A texture with all 4 mipmaps at 1024x1024 wouldn't be so blured. Anisotropic filtering also helps.by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
@ b-tone Don't wait for us, we're still a week or two away. @ six degrees Nose cone obviously won't be "damaged", but "cockpit" object will have some polygons beneath nose cone which will look crashed. So effect will be obvious only when nose cone falls off. We're still not sure how is this going to work, or will the results be realistic enough. Simby bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
There's a small delay because we're trying to implement some new ideas in damage model. The idea is when you crash the nose, it looks crashed, and not like the nose is just cut off. Otherwise is done, except lower lods.by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
No, it's basicly done, we're detailing it slowly. Only recently Mckey did 3d grills, and we still have to do some minor details and lower lods. I'm not planing many cars this year so I'm not in a hurry at all.by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
@ eighth I can't get shadows perfect for everyone; for example, this picture looks pretty dark on my work PC, but it's nice and clear on my home PC. It depends a lot about contrast and screen settings.by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
And last one for today:by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
Here, tcam as requested. Positions aren't tweaked yet though.by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
Indeed, we didn't spend to much time converting it to NTby bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
...and now it's time for first ingame screenshots. Normal version: NT version:by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
Or, to put it this way; texture: alpha channels and few minor logo fixes and fancy efects; shape: modelling grills in 3d, finishing damage model (mostly done though), and lower lods, but this year we won't spend to much time on lower lods. Only taking away some polygons and stuff like antennas. We all have turbo powerfull ninja PCs and we don't need lower lods anyway.by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
My guess is it should be ready soon after Imola.by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
@ b-tone You can use it in 2005 set if you want.by bojan_tarticchio - Grand Prix 4
