F1 Graphics Swapper 1.0 added to the first post. I made this tool solely because I needed it. I've got various versions of the f1graphics.cfg in my GP4 directory - One for when I'm playing with the vanilla cars, one for more demanding mods, one for screenshots/videos etc. - and was sick of manually renaming them when I wanted to swap. This tool does the renaming for you.by AUS_Doug - Grand Prix 4

On the 30th day, of the 10th month, of the year of our Lord 2014, the prophet Jorge heralded the coming of this day with this cryptically worded prophecy: > You sound exactly like a fu**** dictator. We denounced him as a crazy fool! But, alas, it was we who were the fools. Here are a few .con files that I use with my 360 Controller: Normal usage. For the GP4 Central 2014 Laptop Mod. (Helps with the much twitchier cars.) For a high speed oval track like the Indianapolis Speedway. (Really reduced sterring.) The triggers on the 360 controller will not work properly with GP4, so the controls I use are as follows: - Left analogue stick for Brake and Throby AUS_Doug - Grand Prix 4
Thanks for those, but I worked out the problem; GP4 Builder didn't like exporting the parts with a / in the name. (Dry\soft_icon_hilit & Wet\hard_icon etc.) I removed those, and now it is working!by AUS_Doug - Grand Prix 4

Yeah that was the first thing I tried, but it didn't work. Actually, I got the model I tried it on from a mod generated by CSM from a GP4 installation. I might try extracting the model from the cars.wad myself.by AUS_Doug - Grand Prix 4
Hi all, So I want to make my own steering wheel, but I'm unable to get the default into Z-Modeler (Because it's locked) and, when trying to export all the pieces from GP4 Builder, I get an error after it gets to the part named 'circle'. So, if someone has all the little pieces of an internal steering wheel as .3ds or .gp4 files (or has an unlocked internal wheel that theby AUS_Doug - Grand Prix 4
Woo, second win! Congrats to Monty on taking the season, and good driving everyone. Thanks again to Tom for putting this competition together.by AUS_Doug - Grand Prix 4
Grand Prix 4 - Oulton Park crash. The danger factor that comes with a combination of high speeds and compromised aerodynamics is magnified on a track that features sharp elevation changes. (And if anyone knows how to make Vimeo videos work here, could you tell me?)by AUS_Doug - Grand Prix 4
Awesome round everyone! No matter what I tried I just could not get that 2nd sector together......oh well, one round to go and it'll be a good one I'm sure.by AUS_Doug - Grand Prix 4
I had an issue like that, and I think I fixed it by changing the 0 ; Rotate wheels via textures v2 to 1 ; Rotate wheels via textures v2by AUS_Doug - Grand Prix 4

Good round everyone, Korea is gonna be some good fun! Also, Tom, I think Monty should be ahead of me on the leaderboard by dint of having scored his 2nd place before me?by AUS_Doug - Grand Prix 4
Bloody hell Tom, that's a ripper of a lap, and I reckon it's got me me beat; I just cannot find that time I'm losing in the last sector. Good racing thus far everyone!by AUS_Doug - Grand Prix 4

Hi all, I've started doing stuff with the Grand Prix 4 subreddit, and would love it if you guys would come along and post stuff. I've started a Wiki for the sub, currently containing a FAQ and a 'Getting Started' guide, with 'Must Have' lists of tools, mods, tracks etc. on the way. It would be fantastic if we could get it showcasing awesome screenshots, videby AUS_Doug - Grand Prix 4
When you export to .3ds, all the "Object, light and camera names are limited to 10 characters." Any objects (meshes) with names over 10 characters, Z-Modeler will - I believe - not export. 'CPIT' is OK whereas 'This_is_a_cockpit' is not. So check that first.by AUS_Doug - Grand Prix 4
When you add a track to TSM, all you need are the .dat and .wad files. The settings.ini is generated automatically, and the track will work in game without the .gpi (which is the track layout displayed in the in-game track selection screen), also without the .bmp (the track's loading screen) and the .jip files. (I'm not sure what they do.) To add a track to TSM: 1) Click 'by AUS_Doug - Grand Prix 4

On the subject of difficulty between seasons - and this ties in to what miki2000milos said about car behaviour - car setups will play a big part. For example, I have a setup for driving a 2001 Minardi on Pro at the Hungaroring that is good enough for a win but if I try and drive a 2007 Ferrari with it I'm just so slow. In terms of grip and handling, no problem, but the gear ratios wereby AUS_Doug - Grand Prix 4
Good first round everyone, nice to get back into it; Shifting from setting up the 2001 cars to the 2014 cars is a big change! Looking forward to Mexico.......I think I'll get some practice ones in first. supermonty Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It's a shame ! Ah I was wondering where I'd gone wrong on that one; A shame too, as I thought that lap was pretty OK.........until that point at least! I love this updated physics as well, with it being more important to have wing values closer together. And that lite HUD is really cool.by AUS_Doug - Grand Prix 4
