I am running the new Urbano ficticio circuit and keep having a glitch in one of the latter right hander turns. Right after I brake and make the turn my car comes to a near complete stop right as I need to accelerate (and go under the Marboro banner). I have reviewed the lap playback and it happens at about the 1 minute 15 second mark at speed. It's frustrating because the A1 all get to passby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
In regard to my earlier post, changing the CPU setting in GPxPatch from ALL to "0" seems to have fixed the problem with the game crashing after a few laps. However, there is an issue on one of the slowest corners by which the game seems to almost stop my car completely before re-accelerating. If I send you the payback file, could you maybe fix it? This is the best track work I've sby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Awesome work and a rush to drive. I'm having an issue, though. The track is slow to load, i.e. the loading bar stops halfway for three or four minutes. However, it does finally load but the game crashes to desktop with an error after a few race laps. I am so glad someone out there is still working on these type of projects. If had the software skills, I'd offer up some myself. Thaby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
I had trouble opening the downloaded file. Kept downloading as a .vhdx file(?). What program opens this? I don't want to install a bunch of add-on junk. I have been using the 7z unzip installer program for most of these track files but it doesn't work on this.by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Appreciate the quick reply, Neil. I have already tried that without any change. I suspect the wheel may be going bad. I plan to substitute another wheel and see if that makes any difference.by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
It can only happen to me. I use the Logitec MOMO steering wheel/pedals unit. Suddenly, the car will not turn to make the last hairpin turn at Monaco, the one right before entering the main straight or the pits. Just for verification, I tried to run the various other Monaco versions from different seasons and had the same result. If I unplug the power connector on the steering unit, i.e. disablingby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Unfortunately, I won't give me that. I just tried to duplicate the problem and got only to lap 11 this time. Every time, the graphics and the controls begin to get jittery for just a couple seconds and then the whole screen freezes with the audio stuck on full blast. The initial ESC button does nothing. When I hit the Control Alt Delete, the sound stops. When I hit ESC again, the sound returby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Looks interesting. I would not have thought the Indy type ovals would be much fun on GP4 but after running the Indy oval, it is a rush and gives new appreciation these drivers need as a skill set to complete a race like that.by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Quite a piece of work, there, Rene! I'm not sure I'm smart enough to figure it all out, yet, but we'll keep at it. How soon for 4.31?by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
The newer Valencia track looks and runs very well until about the twentieth lap - then it locks up the screen, the sound sticks on full blast, and the whole program must be shut down through Task Mgr or sometimes by powering off the whole PC. Any thoughts?by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Look forward to running on it!by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Just out of curiosity, do the tracks have to all be in a certain folder and be formatted a certain way to install properly using GPxPatch? The Patch only asked for a file location for the .dat only. I have had problems in the past with this, although I think it was only when installing tracks that were previously setup and installed with either Track Installer or Zaz TSM. Any thoughts on why theby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Tom, that newer Valencia track is pretty awesome. Leo is to be commended for his detailed work. Through my experimentation I ran across something intriguing. I used Track Installer V1.3 to input the Valencia track. When I install it in the number one slot over Melbourne, I would consistently run 145-146 second lap times. No matter what I did with wing and gear ratio settings, I couldn't breaby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Tom, does your mod work in anyway with the original 2001 carset? I would like to figure out how to get some consistent performance settings in my GP4 when running the aftermarket tracks but have little or no desire to change the cars themselves. Old school - don't like the look or the sound of these newer F1 cars.by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
I have for the first time attempted to run a full championship race on the 2008 Valencia track. Strange deal, my car was set for two pit stops but always started with less than 20 gallons of fuel. I substituted the track for another version, maybe one with an update, and now it is just the opposite. The car wins the pole then starts the race with 60 gallons of fuel and runs like a tub of %^&*by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Just ran the first time in the ams renault complex track which was quite a rush. Gildoorf Rozencrantz and the rest of the design team kicked butt on making that one. I just wondered what it would take to put some fans in the stands. As good as some of these newer tracks are, and Portimao and Piranema also come to mind, it takes away from the effect quite a bit when the stands are empty. Just thouby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
How does one install these md3 files into the system?by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Looking forward to it, Rene - You are the man!by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Curious if anyone knows if the Belini patch or Rene's plan to enhance GPxPATCH will work with a different track set and driver's names. The .ini file that comes with Belini has a list of the 17 original tracks and I have wondered if it works on other tracks.by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Do you have a good link to those MD files?by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4

I have noticed when making an early, unscheduled pit stop the crew doesn't automatically add fuel to negate the need to make the next stop and/or keep the number of stops in check. I noticed the wheel screen does have a fuel indicator with the >> there to apparently allow the addition of fuel by the driver. I cannot see how to affect that function. Any thoughts? After loading the 1988 season and starting to run through the tracks, the game will not continue after qualifying is finished on two out four tracks which are all I have run so far. It doesn't lock up and crash, it simply stops there, displays the qualifying results, plays that on-going GP4 jam, and will not display the Continue prompt. Hitting the escape key does nothing, either. It did thaby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Hey Tom, How about hosting a periodic webex type conference call for all the worldwide GP4 guys? I would very gladly contribute and participate in that. Thanks, AustinF1by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Clicked on that link, been there before. Tom has posted some helpful downloads there but I'm not seeing any that relate to his reply on here(?). Thanksby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Thanks for the reply. Link sends me to Web Page Not Available though. Thanksby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Thanks for the reply, Rene. I did manage to open a couple of those magic data files but couldn't find what I was really after, to change the pit crew guy pointing me the wrong way on some of the new tracks. In general, I have been experimenting with all this GP4 data with Team Editor, Zaz Tools, and now this Cmagic but am a bit frustrated because I suppose I don't really know what Iby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
I have finally got the correct version of CMAGIC to work after setting the compatibilty to XP SP3 and run as administrator. The issue I have now is this: The small window opens and allows me to set the correct GP4.exe location and select a track file. I end up inputting a .dat file there as these are the only type files the program seems to accept (thus I guess that is what goes there). However,by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
I came across this old post and am intrigued by it as it may very well be key to curing some of my frustrations. On many of the aftermarket GP4 tracks, my car (meaning me and my young boys' car is constantly getting outbraked into corners by the AI cars. It doesn't do it on most tracks, though, only some which tells me there is something in the track settings that may be tweaked to fix tby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
