time to come back to GP4 for sure - as SchueyFan said early this year my desktop pc crashed and having not much time for leisure anyway I nearly forgot about GP4 now with longer autumn evenings I was able to get my rig going again, GP4 being the only game I have played the last years I found it on the hd, started it to test the hardware and was hooked again ... next stop: grandprixgames.org ..by xandy - Grand Prix 4
thank you for your reply and the confirmation that it is a problem with my setup or gpu my pc is now 6 years old - so time to update if anyone can give me more information about the "automatic objects load/unload" (and how to control it perhaps with f1graphics.cfg settings) I would be gratefulby xandy - Grand Prix 4
on some tracks I've popups of trees, grandstands, buildings etc. from t-cam view (with nose cone view too) with cockpit view there are now popups I assumed this to be another of GP4's quirks and it isn't big deal to increase the clipping distance of the offending objects (thanks to GP4Builder) but now f1virtuals's Melbourne 2012 track with cockpit view all is well wiby xandy - Grand Prix 4

one comment on sun position and car shadows perhaps I'm the only one but I have weird (projected) car shadows for the last years the Melbourne race starts much later in the day than in 2007 (the year for which TTM did his great track) so the sun is lower in the sky and has a different position - which result in longer shadows with different directions on the track TTM's track hasby xandy - Grand Prix 4
@lo2k I use the method described by auscain too and always thought it would be easier to get it right if we could define bank height not only in absolute term but also with degrees of elevation if we have a 2% verge/bank elevation we could shorten the bank width in a dummy *.dat and still the resulting vertices would be on the same plane as the original bank object, wouldn't they? everybody is entitled to his or her own opinion I think so here is mine GP4 is a 10+ years old game and being that as it is the GP4 community is doing alright perhaps it is no longer like Die Hard 1 (all new and exiting) but more like Die Hard 5 (quite comfortable and enjoyable) people from all over the world share part of their pastime (GP4 playing and modding) which in itself is a greatby xandy - Grand Prix 4

sorry to bother you again but I must tell you that I can't paint any skins for the stands worth sharing some comments on getting the stand in the game I can give - perhaps they are useful to you and may explain my first statement - as always the few things that are not working as expected or due to "user error" are mentioned not all the "good things" (I admire the standby xandy - Grand Prix 4

thanks guys for your uploads - both versions are working for me re skins - I will have a go at it but with my skills I for sure won't reach the standard of the shape or the textures shown by gezerre and it will take a while a thought about the transparent areas - the use of fully transparent textures can have nasty side effects in GP4 as objects with translucent textures may pop up inby xandy - Grand Prix 4
my first visit here this year - and to find such beauties! thank you for sharing your work one problem though (I don't have 3dsmax) importing the 3ds shape into GP4Builder I get a very biiig pitstand with the parts out of alignment I tried a conversion with ZModeler without luck could you please upload a gp4 file with the properly sized and aligned shape thank you xandyby xandy - Grand Prix 4
