Also, Is it possible to change the shape of the pit monitor, or just the texture? thxby ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
I was wondering what the restrictions/limitations the game places on the area used for pit garages. I'm assuming the start positions of the cars in the garages at practice and qualifying are fixed, and cannot be modified ? And the garage must be positioned around them? It seems to be done very badly in a lot of tracks where i start in completely the wrong position. I'm looking at modby ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
I think it's time the muppets were replaced, they look dated, and I hate those stupid globe heads.by ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
Is there any visual indicator in GP4 builder that shows me precisely where the car will appear in the garage when Qualifying / Free Practice ? I notice on a lot of tracks the positioning is a bit off , or can anyone recommend a method. thxby ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
I notice the current Muppets are sporting the fashionable look of using silicon breasts for headphones. ...... they also look disturbingly like a sphincter Anyway I'm trying to find out the brand of the current headphone style that red bull are using. Do you know the headphone model name for the 2010 / 2011 season ? From what I've found they are the same model/styby ramf1v - Grand Prix 4

Well I think I pretty much nailed it, just a few details to add..... Does anyone know where I might find a clean texture of this area? The same style is also used under the counter, where the engineers legs are. And to finish off one of the back of the gantry? thanks again for the references.by ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
Ha ha , lovely! I don't fancy recreating these screens by hand @soulbringer , Your first pic is definitely the look I want @SchueyFan Yes I saw those but just dismissed it for not being real enough, maybe I can make them look like soulbringers first pic with a few filters in AE. Thanks for the response guys, very helpfulby ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
SchueyFan Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Also, some of the screens are just the TV feed, so > I guess you could just link it to the tvanim.tex > video screen. Yeah i need to work out what screens go where, some animated some not The 2011 Red Bull stand has 14 monitors to fill I guess there's no set order for the screen displaysby ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
Thanks tojepo, very usefull, I also found this at the mclaren site but I'm not sure how accurate the data is as in representing the real telemetry tho' ...by ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
Do you guys know of a good source of real time telemetry, that i can build the screen animations from, I've been looking into iracing and rfactor but the output doesn't seem that realistic. Ideally I need video files that i can load into After Effects and export as a .tga sequence. thxby ramf1v - Grand Prix 4

Very cool, but how would you go about categories and sub categories ?by ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
I've had another idea, It's maybe better to ask people who are going to the tracks to take specific photo's and add these to the database? Not sure how to do it , but it would be pretty cool.by ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
Renault#1Fan Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Maybe you could ask some of the teams, they have > sent photos of steering wheels to others maybe > they can send a few pics of the pitstands too. Sure, but in my experience I rarely get a response, definitely worth a try tho' . thxby ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
Does anyone know of a service that lets users right click an image, and send to an internet destination ? Similar to the current send via email, but a direct version. thxby ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
I've allowed users to create sub folders, and anyone interested in helping moderate I can PM log in details. When this is set up I'll create a new thread, hopefully people will participate and not just leech I've uploaded a few pics , just click the View All Images when you get to the relevant sub folder, nice and easy to download.by ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
Good call dude , I'm setting up 4shared account just for reference pics. temp password is gp4, i need to get the folder structure and permissions right, see how it goes, uploading is a doddle with 4shared desktopby ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
Thanks pycku, but mclaren pic is 2007, Lotus is a good start. About the Database, Is there anything similar to Dropbox, but with better access and more storage space? Dropbox is only 2gby ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
Yes I was going to suggest a Reference Picture thread, similar to the "Want a sponsor Logo" but they just get too damn long, and there's no "search within thread" function here. What process do you think is best suited to the task? Because the scope is so large it would need a sub-forum all of it's own due to the high number of categories. Are there any services oby ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
Guys I'm having a hard time finding good reference pics of 2011 Pit Gantry's. As usual, instead of modeling, I'm spending hours trawling the web for decent pics. This is very tiresome, does any one have links for good reference photo's ? I found these, Red bull have gone and changed the shape again, I preferred the 2010 style.by ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
Pitbabes I think the one on the right is moving too much, I need to be subtle when there's only 10 frames to play with. Thanks to a tip from schroeder there's an extra 4 frames available. Just a test as I refine the workflow. l8r's r@mby ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
I just put 1200 trees lining both sides of a track, and it had no impact on PO at all. Maybe it's not the number of animations playing, but rather the number of animation sequences being processed, currently all animations are mapped onto one single atx_flag.by ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
Alessio88 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > i don't know if possible but i'll post my idea > what about some animated muppets as well? Yes, I was already considering these, as well as new crowd animations. Possibly using aXYZ rigged models and adapting the textures would be the easiest way. Bigbrother Wrote: -----------------------------by ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
Turbo Lover Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Very original ideas! The animated flags are very > realistic. I presume you use the atx_flag > textures? Yes, atx_flag & tvanim textures. Added a smoother tree loop to the first post, I'm much happier with this one. thx for the feedback guys. r@mby ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
Here's a quick preview of some animations I'm working on Eventually all countries will be added and released as a texture pack. Scrolling Adverts, this transition is limited but pretty effective. and a small logo for new Singapore track I made in After Effects. TV screen is Hamilton Massa incident at Singapore 2011. I plan to have 4 unique TV screens for the track, buby ramf1v - Grand Prix 4

Hey guys, just a heads up......there's a thread over at GrandprixX.com about future improvements to Slimtex, to ease the strain on the gp4 devs, If you have any suggestions, please join in. Also I've thrown up a new Dev blog, (link in my sig) enjoy.... l8r'sby ramf1v - Grand Prix 4
