Yeah, I just make one bloody quick setup so that when I race my friends when we link up, I can kick his arse because he thinks he is the master of Formula 1 when he sets up his car and tells us that he didn't and for me to use the default. Never again!by Rainey - Grand Prix 3
Umm, I don't go away and calculate my setups using maths and @!#$, I just fiddle until I'm near the lap record time for qualifying. Yeah it was a good read, but you shouldn't take it so seriously, lol!by Rainey - Grand Prix 3
Lol, cool. We only drove around it at sunset, in about 98 too, oh and BACKWARDS!by Rainey - Grand Prix 3
Lol, ok Vader, your time has been recorded, but maybe next time you should try a Formula 1 car. Actually speaking of Albert Park and slow vehicles, I've been around it in a car in real life, hehe.by Rainey - Grand Prix 3
2 problems. 1. I don't have GP3-2000. 2. I can't really be bothered signing up and stuff. Hehe.by Rainey - Grand Prix 3
Why don't you look at the thread "I wanna see YOUR laptimes..." read the rules (not many, just about making sure you have most aids off) and do a few hotlaps. We're doing Australia to start with, and I have put up the competetive times just now, its the last message. Join in.by Rainey - Grand Prix 3
I had a chance to try again today, and sure enough I managed a quite quick 1:29.250. Here is the Leaderboard so far: 1.) F1Montoya - 1:27.716 2.) Rainey - 1:29.250 3.) Beardless2 - 1:29.897 We need more contenders!by Rainey - Grand Prix 3
They lost me about 10 posts back.by Rainey - Grand Prix 4
Yeah I've had Kazaa for a while, and have seen that clip, how could you confuse a F1 with an Indycar??? I'd like to see the 2 vehicles (F/A 18 and the Indycar) both going at top speed side by side. F/A 18 at about +1000kmph and the Indy at maybe 320kmph.by Rainey - Grand Prix 3
Have you got the Hot Lap replay of that F1Montoya? Thats a lot quicker than I can possibly get the car around, even if it was a perfect lap, I did an experiment yesterday and saved the game after I completed each corner perfectly, then loaded if I stuffed up, the time I got at the end was JUST better than Beardless2's time, it was a 1:29.858. I believe my setup is not perfect, but it is prby Rainey - Grand Prix 3
Yeah, and it gives your replay a bit of character, you can see when someone is really pushing the car to its limits. BTW I still haven't beaten Beardless2's time, but I haven't had a chance to try.by Rainey - Grand Prix 3
Nope, the only assist that I've allowed for this is Auto-Gears. Without Throttle Control it makes it a bit more challenging.by Rainey - Grand Prix 3
No, Australia in the DRY, perfect conditions, no chance of rain. Put in the best practise hot lap you can get and then save the hot lap replay for proof, then be honest and submit your time here, if its suspiciously fast, it might need to be inspected.by Rainey - Grand Prix 3
Yeah I can imagine. My Joystick that I use for GP3 is a little bit messed up and it kinda 'flicks' when I center it, say if I'm going from a left to right bend, as the joystick passes the center it will suddenly flick to full lock and then back again, sometimes it doesnt affect me, and other times it can cause me to spin. One question I have for you Ellis is: I it possible toby Rainey - Grand Prix 3
Nice work Beardless. I gotta really push to beat that one now, there are areas where I eased up a bit in my lap, no doubt I'm going to have to improve on it. Maybe tomorrow I'll have a crack if I get time. You don't know how many times I do my lead-in lap and then crash on the first corner of my flying lap and have to 'shift-q' and start again.by Rainey - Grand Prix 3
Ahh, ok Ellis, Joypads are allowed, so long as all assists are OFF. Isn't it hard to balance the throttle and steering with a digital device on a game which has such accurate physics like GP3? As for laptimes, I just went away for another proper attempt and managed a really good laptime (for me anyway) of 1:30.342, thats better than any other laptime I've had even with throttle helpby Rainey - Grand Prix 3
Beardless, GP3. I have never played GP3 2000 so I'm not sure of the differences, so we'll just keep it to GP3 which everyone here obviously owns.by Rainey - Grand Prix 3
...starting with Australia. The deal is you MUST be using an analog device (because digital devices such as the keyboard or joypad don't allow you to turn off steering help), and the only assist you can have turned on is Auto-Gears, everything else must be OFF. Make sure you save a hot lap replay of your drive for proof if neccessary. IMPORTANT: You must be driving with the default poweby Rainey - Grand Prix 3
Well I think that would be quite entertaining, seeing the Schumacher brothers sitting in Wheelbarrows would surely be a great sight to see! I'd pay money to see it..................................once.by Rainey - Grand Prix 3
Vader, after about 45 minutes of Practising on Australia without throttle help (the only helper I had was auto-gears) my best laptime was exactly 1:32.156 and I totally stuffed up the final corner which lost me about half a second. It is definately a lot of fun though, especially with those left-rights, it gives you a certain rush when you feel the wheels start to light up exiting a corner, unfoby Rainey - Grand Prix 3
I really like the way they have modelled the correct car shape for each team, Minardi's shape is pretty stylish from that view.by Rainey - Grand Prix 4
Marc, It appears as though we thought the same thing on how to do this, using the 'Overlay' blending mode and stuff. It shows that great minds think alike. Habi, yeah I think Marc has got a more realistic look of what everything looks like through our eyes, thats why I tryed to be clever and make it look like a broadcast. I've put up a screenshot of the steps I did this in, iby Rainey - Grand Prix 4
Ozzy, thats not true, GP3's Throttle Help does not allow you to go faster, when its turned off and you accellerate the car correctly it is possible to exit corners with more speed than when you have the assist turned on, throttle help balances the throttle for you so that you can push it to full-throttle but the full power will not be applied until the car's wheels can get traction, exaby Rainey - Grand Prix 3
Another reason why hands weren't/arent being implemented is because of the modelling and texturing needed, they would have to create every drivers arms with the correct outfit, and that would be a texturing nightmare trying to do some good looking and accurate recreations of every pair of arms. Although I would like to see it done well, there arent many games that have accomplished this, anby Rainey - Grand Prix 4
Yeah mate, friends. I'm gonna have a decent crack at racing without throttle help in a minute, I have driven races before with it off, but I'm close to terrible without it. I tend to drive a few laps nicely then I'll slightly apply too much accell and spin coming out of a corner, or a car will attempt to pass my granny-slow ass exiting a corner and we both end in tears, lol.by Rainey - Grand Prix 3
OH! Sorry man, credit to Marc then for the inspiration, I didn't notice... I used Photoshop 6 like you I think, I made bigger versions, but I reduced it to be a small download for you guys, it looks even better full size. I'll explain how I did it: First I made a blue 'screen' over the image, and reduced the opacity to about 30%, changed the layer blend mode to 'Oby Rainey - Grand Prix 4

I'll stick with my opinion because the previous reply's tend to back that up, but of course I respect your opinion Vader, I'm no vehicle expert, the worst that could happen is that I could be WRONG! I hope not....by Rainey - Grand Prix 3
