I was karting a few days ago... my dad has a J (Yamaha KT100J-powered junior class) and we were running (in between rentakart sessions) at Picton (NSW) for much of the day. Did over 100 laps in total and dropped almost 4sec off my lap time by the end of the day (I haven't driven a 2-stroke in over 10 years). I payed for it though - a lot of bruising by the end of the day. One of the guysby kappie - Off-Topic
I don't think it would have even entered the equation - payment of bonus money to Button is a seperate issue (and quite possibly not even within the jusrisdiction of the CRB). The CRB in all likelihood would only have considered matters directly before them, and the only matter before them was whether or not BAR's contract was valid.... I'm almost 100% certain that if BAR do not paby kappie - F1
Just a thought... The situation between JB and BAR is largely due to dissatisfaction on JB's part over BAR's non-payment of bonus money per point scored (which is in his contract). Should BAR not pay within the timeframe stipulated by the contract, they would be in breach. Should they be in breach, BAR's option over BAR would not be valid, and any contract that arose from saiby kappie - F1

The only real solution to VIA stability issues is to not use VIA-based motherboards if you want good AGP graphics, or to use agood PCI video card. VIA's implementation of AGP seems to be the root of the problem. I tried endless variations of VIA and vid card drivers (for a radeon 9700pro) to no avail... I could never reduce the frequency of crashes to a level that was acceptable. In tby kappie - Off-Topic

What does the RH2004 track update contain? Updated textures in addition to the tracks themselves? Has anyone tried serialmike's and JP's updated textures with RH2004? Should I expect them to work without problems?by kappie - Off-Topic
The McLaren looks great. I don't understand why so many people are so obsessed about the quality/realism of a render... surely attention to detail regarding carshape and livery is more important?? When you're racing, you don't have time to admire the scenery. If this car is indicative of all the RH2004 cars, I can't wait til I get my hands on a copy. Has anyone triedby kappie - Off-Topic

The most important factor is the video card. I run GP4 and F1C on a 1.4Ghz PIII (it's a dual CPU, but the game isnt multi-threaded so no difference) with a Radeon 9700pro and the frame rates are 30+ at 1280x1024 with high detail when it's only drawing 1-5 cars. The performance really drops off when you start adding cars, and I suspect the CPU becomes the over-riding factor when having tby kappie - Off-Topic
