Hi Laurent, This morning I received the email about the retirement and ending of RealGPx. It is completely understandable. I haven't touched GP4 or a steering wheel for years myself. I had some good times with GP4, driving, editing and programming. Thanks for all the hard work! Kind regards, Patrick Cloostermanby patrickc - Grand Prix 4

There is only one curve, so every car uses the same data.by patrickc - Grand Prix 4
Hi all, today i've released a GP4 tool that allows you to edit the power/torque curve used by GP4 cars. Probably this tool is only useful for mod makers. If you don't know what a power curve is you probably don't need this tool When you make changes to the curve, make sure you change the max bhp and RPM accordingly using some other tool (this is not supported yet by the eby patrickc - Grand Prix 4
Have you tried disabling 3d audio and enabling 2d in gp4?by patrickc - Grand Prix 4
I've set some breakpoints in the .exe a few minutes ago to check it again. The pits-end position is overwritten before the value is used by gp4. But it's just a flag, so it isn't that importantby patrickc - Grand Prix 4
Lo2k Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hmm, I'm sorry Patrick but : > - 3DEditor creates 33 sectors from the pit start > flag and do not use pits end flag here. Yes, i know. But i mean a trackmaker can use it as an endpoint for the pitbox area. Just as a reference where the wider verges/banks should be. > - Concerning GP4, I dealt with useby patrickc - Grand Prix 4
@Zeppelin101: the pits end flag isn't really needed by GP4. GP4 computes the pits end position based on the pits start flag. However, i think it is useful for 3dEd because it is a nice reference for creating the pitbox area.by patrickc - Grand Prix 4

@Ruboy: The problem is caused by a (known) bug in some ccline related code (just what i thought). This bug only gives problems in some special cases. I've already fixed it some time ago, so it will be fixed in next 3dEd release.by patrickc - Grand Prix 4
@Ruboy: send me the .dat and i will have a look at it. There is a bug in some ccline related code, and it will be fixed in next 3dEd. So maybe that's the reason of your ccline problem.by patrickc - Grand Prix 4
I've put a StartingLight editor on my newly created website - Edit starting light coordinates for all GP4 tracks. - Option to restore default GP4 values. - Import/export (multiple) tracks fo file. - Only support for GP4 1.02 yet.by patrickc - Grand Prix 4
Sorry, no news yet. I'm working on a startinglight editor at the moment (today). When i'm ready with it i will continue with your friend's track.by patrickc - Grand Prix 4
You could say i am pretty new at this forum (and gp4 programming). I started to edit tracks halfway this year. After a short time i got interested in ccline and did some debugging/programming for it. With good results i can say Since then i did some debugging on sector commands, track banking and some other (unfinished) things. I didn't do much gp4 programming lately, but because youby patrickc - Grand Prix 4
@b-tone: i think it is possible to implement such a feature in gpxpatch for example. I don't know how gp4 handles grid placement. I do know that sector param CCDir2 (and CCPitch2) influence the way the cc-cars pointing on the grid. But it also influences driving behaviour of cars, so it is not an ideal solution.by patrickc - Grand Prix 4
I have found a relation with ccline data. But the values that are being used are the same as 3dEd ones. So my first guess is that there is some sort of limitation on who knows what. I will do some more research tomorrow.by patrickc - Grand Prix 4
@Auradrummer: i did some debugging using your .dat file and the ingame ccline output seems exactly the same as 3dEd output. I have found the place where gp4 keeps looping some code. So the reason why the game freezes is because it is running an endless loop. I don't know how it is related to ccline yet.by patrickc - Grand Prix 4
There is a known issue in 3dEd 16.4 on ccline. Sometimes the sector angle is slightly different compared to ingame gp4. This gives us (in special cases) wrong display results in the editor and gp4 ofcourse. It is already fixed and i think it will be implemented in the next 3dEd version. @Auradrummer: I shall have a look at your .dat. @B-tone and other oval developers: i haven't found aby patrickc - Grand Prix 4
Auradrummer Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > You have the talent to make me curious!!!! :D 3dEd banking code isn't exactly the same as gp4 banking code (yet). So when the .col and .bin are generated there are some differences in face coordinates, resulting that these files don't match the .dat file in those (high) banked sectors.by patrickc - Grand Prix 4

@Jimbob: yes, i noticed the same problem when i opened the .gp4 with 3dEd 15.8by patrickc - Grand Prix 4
@Turbo Lover: there are some missing Bank Descriptions at the end of the pitlane. I think that causes a problem when the .3ds/.gp4 is generated.by patrickc - Grand Prix 4
@Turbo Lover: I don't know what's wrong, but when i open the .gp4 it doesn't match the .dat file. And i can't find the wall you are talking about, in the .dat file. So it seems .gp4 related. Can you drive through that wall ingame? If yes, it is .gp4 related for sure.by patrickc - Grand Prix 4
Maybe the left and right fence gate boxes are checked at one of your last sectors?by patrickc - Grand Prix 4
@b-tone: ok, i shall have a look at your .dat files. Maybe i can find something interesting about then last sector .bin problem and pitlane/track sectors.by patrickc - Grand Prix 4
@b-tone: could you send me your .dat file? I can check where gp4 crashes. edit: Well, i know where it crashes, but i don't know why.by patrickc - Grand Prix 4
