I forgot that your running GP4 in linux. You may have messed up but you figured it out. well done I'm a lamer really with all the specifics, I just like pointing out stuff that i see. It always baffled me why in multiplayer no matter what car I chose, they would be first and second unless of course accidents and other mishaps happen. Hey Noog, thanks for that I was curious so i ended up uninstalling gpxpatch on an unpatched GP4 choosing Minardi in multiplayer again, and both cars screamed way ahead of the pack. I was expecting the 'old behavior' but looks like we need gpxpatch installed for that to work. I thought there was only one patch for GP4, so from what you are saying there were more than just one? figured it out in GPxPatch, GPxSet tab chose 'old behaviour' for Player car performance team dependent haven't tried the other options yet, but the above made huge differenceby gp4wonder - Grand Prix 4
My first race results on 2 player lan multiplayer, I've chosen minardi team for the AI controlled computer car (alex yoong) and me as Fernando, note I'm racing against the AI car, it lapped me at 25laps. maybe it's a matter of fun/sim/game we should be greatful with the ai we have, even new games don't have that sort of attention to ai i've had many instances yeh i made for it at the start of the race, getting infront of all those ai cars, only to get banged out of the race few laps later by car crossing infront of my path from leaving the track and hitting another car and thenby gp4wonder - Grand Prix 4
no news from the programmers and looks like gpxpatch guy is out to, not much happening there. Just have to live with no reverb/crowds in MP, that's cool. The folks that created gpxpatch really did a great job. Under the Engine.wave section in gpxsound tab, i changed the min distance to 20 sounded great hearing all the other cars, made an impact on immersion.by gp4wonder - Grand Prix 4
I got the tyre rumble working in multiplayer, version 1.0 unpatched changing gp4.exe to gp4.ini and using textpad editor search for GPAudio::To3D() by putting this on the next line:- GPAudio::To3D() and adding spaceby gp4wonder - Grand Prix 4

My friend i used to race GP2, he actually worked at Monza track as barista i think lol he was hard to beat. we never forgot one race we did with GP2, this particular race came to the wire, last lap, i thought i had won, he slipped streamed me right near the finish line and beat me by a nose imagine racing for an hour and half to come down to that.... we were pumped the wholeby gp4wonder - Grand Prix 4

I have been been concentrating on the lan multiplayer aspect with eax, changing the extension of the gp4.exe to gp4.ini, opening it up with textpad editor and search for eax module there's:- samples\reverbdata\reverb_%s.bin and samples\crowddata\%s.crd. changed %s to say %a save the file, change it back to .exe you won't hear that effect. Ok the verdicts in, great work from 3DJ:- Results are in: pretty much the same as DSOAL and ALchemy, except in multiplayer the game hangs momentarily at times where I think it's entering/exiting EAX reverb zones. @Noog you are welcome. playing it in eax mode just changes the game completely, not just that but with all cpu cores. thanks to that software eax emulator. I have been modifying and testing it in lan multiplayer, guys at github have been fantastic. though so far the eax emulation seems broken in multiplayer, even though it is enabled ingame.by gp4wonder - Grand Prix 4

This post is mainly about the EAX :- DSOAL - True 3D Sound for Headphones (HRTF mod) v1.4 i have been trying to get EAX sound effects working on lan multiplayer, still haven't cracked that one yet been chatting to people on discord server from github to get ideas. things i've tried:- DSOAL support to restore DirectSound3D (3D spatial audio) and EAX (environmental reverb) #2687by gp4wonder - Grand Prix 4
i've just tried lan, well i found something interesting. If i do singleplayer race eax works but when I lan two machines i cannot get eax to work, there's no effects like crowd, engine sounds of other cars etc, even though eax is enabled ingame. damn must be something with multiplayer not working with eax. be good if we could get this to work.by gp4wonder - Grand Prix 4
