Hi guys, Few days later than promised, but I have re-released Road Atlanta in its 1997 form - meaning you can race The Dip, the white-knuckle compression at the bottom of the backstraight valley, instead of the low-speed chicane that was put in place in 1998. Elevations from the Esses downwards have been fully revised as well as the layout of The Dip, the latter based on old black-and-whiteby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Thank you. By the way, the top-tier IMSA series are not running on the Uphill proper anymore (they tackle a chicane instead), but lower-level touring car and GT series are still using it as it was meant to be. I personally cannot really get enough of watching all those rear ends dancing every single time they climb the hill and enter the head-on camera panning them from West Bend. Hi guys, Long time no see, but I still have a small present to you out of the box. It's not new work, however, as I don't have either time or commitment to do new projects nowadays, but instead it's something that has been waiting in the wings for quite some time now. Exactly one year ago, I have completely reworked one of my earliest tracks, Lime Rock Park, to make it morby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4

I think it's less the speed of the corner that counts here (between medium-speed and high-speed) and more the length of the corner. Just to confirm this, say, I'm pretty sure your best tracks and Melbourne and Monaco from the ones you've learnt so far... And that you're struggling in Barcelona as well. If so, then pay special attention to what is coming up next. Keyboardby Atticus. - Grand Prix 3

Hi there! I think for Brands Hatch Indy, if you just decrease the number of laps in the .dat file from 127 or 128 to 126, it should work. I think I didn't remember the hardcoded GP4 limit when I set it for the version that is uploaded. I will re-publish a revised Lime Rock Park before the IMSA race this summer - it's mostly done (elevations were way off in the old version, nowby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4

Wow, so this is a vanilla GP4 feature? If so, I didn't know about it. Thank you. It feels quite amazing to learn new things about a game that's 16 years old (omg) and which I'm playing with for about 14-15 years...by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Wow, thank you very much. Happy to have been an inspiration for this - I can see our Stowe details match pretty good. I like the new Stowe as well by the way (I love everything from the new Copse to new Stowe) but it won't allow for the old Club of course and old Club is >>>> new Club. So like New Copse > old Copse New Maggots-Becketts-Chapel >> old Maggotby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
@huskyman49: I'm sorry about giving you a fright about malware, but I'm sure it's a false positive - it doesn't differ from my other files in any way. Anyhow, I re-compiled the package and uploaded the new version, could you (or anyone) please check now? (I'm using Avast and it doesn't find anything suspicious with these files.) @doclawler & huskyman49: Yeah,by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Only a reinstall fixed it for me a few weeks ago for good. My workaround was to export the original performances, load the file into GPxPatch and launch from there, but I didn't like the idea of my vanilla GP4 being bugged, so I'd rather reinstalled the whole thing.by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4

Finally, please find below my most recent, most up-to-date descriptions for each value. Besides adding all the new information, I have revised a lot of the other comments as well to make them more consistent with the original terms. (I.e. I used “cc” instead of “AI” and structured the descriptions as “cc/player dry/wet” wherever possible/necessary.) You can copy this list into your cmagic4.inby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
The following values are likely to remain unknown even after my most recent investigations. The upshot is that it is only 7 (!) values that we are talking about here, which is a lot less than what we’ve had before. Slipstream? (subtracted from diff between field_e2 of 2 cars and then compared to speed of first car) – A surprising amount of information is known about this value despite not beinby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Hi All, So I have undertaken a massive amount of tests using GPxPatch’s logging feature to find out more about lots of magic data values in general. The tests were being conducted on a fresh GP4 install without any mods, in 100% non-championship races with 0% rain chance at Silverstone. The only thing I have had switched on was the Player car performance team dependent option, which was setby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4

Here's a quick update for you on how testing is going. I've found the logic behind 3 of the 4 values previously labelled "player wet?" besides clarifying a lot of the others, although I'm still dumbfounded by the "slipstream" figure. In total, there are only 8 numbers of which we have no idea what they do still. (Including the two "segment nrs"by Atticus. - Grand Prix 4

Hi guys, Can someone please give me a working link for CMagic4, the one that works with the v1.00 .exe? I cannot find it anywhere on the web. (Marc's website is down.) I normally use v1.02, of course, I'd just like to check something in the v1.00 magic data. Thank you in advance. Cheers, Atticusby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
Alternatively, if you are looking for a more accurate layout - albeit in a fictional environment - you can download Monaco Historic from my workthread. It's essentially the layout used up until 1967 but in the original GP4 environment, as if in 2001 we suddenly decided to do away with the Sainte Devote and Nouvelle Chicane kerbs and route the track through its old path, using the upper prby Atticus. - Grand Prix 4
