I have reinstalled everything but mods, and yet, the original tracks still do not show up in TSM so I can edit the magic data. Any thing I can try?by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
I have tried both but neither worked. I am going to uninstall and reinstall, removing all of the mods I never play and see if I can change the magic data for the original tracks.by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
Okay. I will look for the original files. I think I did install the updates but they did not show up in TSM. I will find the original files first and work with them. If it does nto work I will reinstall the updates to the 2001 tracks. Thanks!by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
I guess I should also state that I am currently running as Fisichella in the old Benetton team. So far: Australia - Qualified 19th, DNF, accident. I didn't realize how bad my setups were, so I downloaded some and tweaked them. Maylasia - Qualified 10th, finished 21st, 2 laps down. Was in 8th and tried to block Trulli. Instead I ran into the back of the car in 7th and ripped off the frontby Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
I stick with the original game because I have yet to race in every car. Championship, 100% Race Distance Professional level Logitech MOMO steering wheel I alwasy restart when I screw up but I am at the point that I screw up so much I might as well take the consequences and learn from my mistakes.by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
First off, if this is not the correct forum for this question please forgive me and point me to the correct forum. Thanks! If it is - I am having a problem with the original tracks. I want to use TSM so I can change the pit stops under the magic data tab but these tracks do not show up. If I install the original tracks the magic data does not appear in the magic data tab. Has anyone foundby Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
I will give that a try. Any other suggestions?by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
Does anyone have car setups for the tracks on the 2001 season that came with the game? I'm on Imola right now and I have the distinction of being the slowest car on track. Any help would be appreciated?by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
It is one of my favorites as well. So far I have not been doing well in practice. Higher front wing than lower? I will give that a try and let you know how it goes. My guess is that when I get to Imola my wings should be about the same as Sepang? There are many corners at Imola and not very many straight sections.by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
I started 10th and was as high as 7th very early on until I tried to block Jean Alesi. Instead of keeping my position I hit him, lost my front wing and left tire, while he lost nothing and rejoined the race. I made it back to the pits but I finished a lowly 17th, 2 laps down. I believe next is Brazil and I will make sure that I have enough wing to gain speed in the corners. Thanks for your helby Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
You're right! I just did a 1:39.4 with your setup! Although, I made the rear 18 and the front 14 as setting them in the opposite made me spin out in the high speed curves (that is oversteer, right?). My fastest with the old setup was 1:41.5. Oh, I also moved the brake balance more toward the front.by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
Make that 14R, 18F? I will try that now.by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
I should be able to reach the top ten, even in the Benneton? I thought that as the difficulty increased the division between the teams would increase, meaning I could never get that car on the podium, correct? 18R, 14F? Wow. I will try that now and let you know.by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
Playing the vanilla version of the game. So far through the first two races I have been 2+ seconds off the pace. I am not losing grip anywhere but I just have no speed. Is this a product of the car I am using (Giancarlo Fisichella's Benneton) or do I just have a bad setup? For instance: Malaysia: wings - 7 rear, 4 front two stop strat Brake balance toward the rear gears (1-7) 23, 2by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
Thanks!! Do I have to remove them before using any other loading screens?by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
Same here. I tried Mexico the other day and it is Beautiful! Some of these tracks I first fell in love with thanks to the video game Super Monaco GP 2 for the Sega Genesis/Master Drive (even if it was based on the 1991 season). Thank you! I look forward to the tracks for 1991!! :Dby Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
Here I am to ask another stupid question. :D Where do I save the loading screens so they will work with GP4?by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
Great, I will give that a try. I will try the 1988 mod but I thought it would be interesting to try these tracks with a different era. Thanks again!by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
Another question - is it possible to use this with the original teams that came with the game, or can it only be used with any mod?by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
Ok. Thanks!by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
I have a stupid question: Do these tracks have to be used with their specific mod or can they be used with any mod (even the original one that came with the game)?by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
Redid qualifying and started sixth. On "race day", coming up to turn one Michael bumped Rubens into the grass, I bumped Michael into his brother, who lost the front wing. I then inherited first as Michael drove through the grass to take second. Rubens and Ralf let the field through then rejoined at the back. I then led every lap but one and was about to take a much needed win when anby Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
No, I believe I was on my very last lap. I didn't know that you can't use lap 12 as a competitive time. I'll remember that when I qualify.by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
Yeah, it definitely slowed me down for a few seconds everytime I cut a corner. And no, BAR#10, I was on my last lap. So I don't think that is what caused it. Maybe it was just a blip? I can always re-qualify if need be.by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
After cutting my third corner (accidentally, of course) I found my 5th place on the grid changed to 22nd. Is there a penalty during qualifying for cutting corners too many times?by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
I use traction control because I am not confident enough to run without it.by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
I shall try that, thank you. The wing angles for Monza were set at 1, 1. Even with that I was not lapping well during the race so I know something else was wrong. Question for all: Do you normally run the default physics regardless of whether you are playing the default game or a mod? This assumes you are changing the wings and the gear ratios.by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
I'm running the default season (2001) and lately I cannot find any speed at all. At Hungary I took pole but would lose tons of speed at the corners, although I think it was because I lost my belief in running, even a little bit, on the kerbs. At Spa, once I drove the correct line through Eau Rouge I was in good shape but the car wold not hit top speed through Blanchimont. I was routineby Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
I have confirmed that the game is now working, no crashes or video jitters. My problem was a bad memory chip. Also I can confirm that if a PC has two CPU's, setting it to one of them (I choose 0) prevents the game from crashing (which happened to me until I made the CPU setting change). Thanks for everyone's help!by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
I think I have found my problem - a defective memory chip. I have installed XP 32bit and will reinstall GP4 soon, but with only 1GB of memory I don't think it will run that well.by Wacky-Racer - Grand Prix 4
