I'm having a problem with the version of Valencia contained in the 2008 trackpack that has been available for a while now. Here's what's happening: I've inserted the indianapolis2001.wad and the s1ct22.dat from the track's archives into tsm, put the track in a profile - however, when I try to load up the track in game, all I get is the cars in pitlane sequence, set up somby gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
I take it it's entirely coincidental that CSM gives out a notice "This version is outdated and cannot be updated anymore", asks if you want to download the new version to your desktop, and the one which you then download contains a file that gave me an antivirus warning saying it contains a trojan the second I tried to run it? Because if it weren't, that would have some impby gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
Impressive, and such a fine idea to release it at this time. Thank you, guys!by gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
I'm having similar problems. I've tried several times using different mods' structures, just exchanging the files, e.g. with some preliminary 2009 cars, everything shows up right in the selection in CSM, but it doesn't get updated properly. Very frustrating.by gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
If you're looking for some references in terms of the cars' performance, maybe you'll find these links interesting: Results from the 1989 WSC, including practice lap times: Technical information on some cars' aerodynamic performance values (Porsche, Nissan, Jaguar - sometimes not exactly 1989, but close):by gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
Nice to have this already, I actually wasn't expecting any 2008 mod for another month or so. Installing the additional/missing/separate cars worked fine, too, so I can't complain. Well done!by gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
Looks very nice already. Interesting idea.by gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
Interesting find. Thanks very much.by gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
Three short stories, of races impersonating Mika Hakkinen in the original game's 2001 season: Melbourne: 3rd place in qualifying behind the two brothers, who were so busy with each other going into the first corner that Hakkinen can slip through. After two laps, a sudden oversteering in the car sends Hakkinen into the wall in the quick S at the back of the circuit, damaging the front wingby gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
I guess that answers this question.by gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
Has anyone made/released race-by-race performance data for the 2003 season? The reason I'm asking is that I've got the gp4.gamernl CSM mod, but that seems to include only one generic set for the whole season. It would be nice to have specific performances like with the newer mods. I'd be pleased if someone could help me, although my searches didn't turn up anything, so it'by gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
I'm not familiar with how the running order in the 2003-style qualifying is determined, so I'm afraid I can't help you with that. The question of how to go back to standard qualifying, however, should be covered here:by gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
The file ...part 1.rar seems to have all there is right now, extracting into four files: F1 2007 Season Mod part 1.cuh F1 2007 Season Mod part 2.cmu F1 2007 Season Mod part 3.cmu F1 2007 Season Track Pack.tup The other downloadable .rars, as far as I can see, offer the same files, the same file sizes and save dates, just in different combinations. The mod is running with these four fby gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
Well, it's not really a knock-out qualifying if anyone from any group can set a faster time changing the grid, so unfortunately, it seems like it's not really possible to have a qualifying with the rules like they are implemented now. I think real F1 could "learn" from GP4 though... this whole strategy-influenced qualifying in recent years just doesn't seem like how itby gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4

Okay, I guess that answers it. Thanks!by gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
I have more of a general question: Does GP4 handle the shape and the textures of cars independently, like as far as I understand it older GPx titles did? For example, would it be possible to put Renault textures together with, say, a McLaren shape, or would that just give a white car because those textures would not be made to fit with the shape?by gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
Yeah, Christian Klien has been using this design for his first Sauber test at Valencia.by gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
A variation on the familiar theme probably showing where the white parts are going to be in the actual Melbourne version, with indicator lines:by gp_2112 - F1
Apparently, Pedro de la Rosa was also testing a new front wing some time today. The rear wing is likely a dummy to emulate the specs of a new one they might put on at a later date - they had a quite similar trick last winter with a rear wing where the black part on top of it was above the actual height of the endplates, which would be the limit under GP weekend conditions AFAIR.by gp_2112 - F1
Where did Alonso change his helmet colors to a darker blue? All the pictures I see from the most recent tests still show the familiar new design with the light blue - which also happens to have another significance than coinciding with Renault's old title sponsor.by gp_2112 - F1
lol at the technique, but I think the design looks nice.by gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
Interesting, although some corners seem tighter to me in the layout than they come across in the video. The look and feel definitely seems different a lot from the tight and cramped Monaco style. I don't think that's a bad thing because it's good the track has its own character.by gp_2112 - F1
You can also see in that picture that all lines above the white part with the cards rise slightly towards the back of the helmet, not as more or less flat as in your design. Still very good for being done within 24 hours of pictures being available though.by gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
Fast and nice work. Thanks!by gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
Nice, all three of them actually.by gp_2112 - Grand Prix 4
