Thank you all for your responses. My favorite was the one about the bumper car simulator. I have never played a console game in my life. My sim experience started with GP2 in '95/'96(?). Friends of mine with console games showed them to me but I couldn't understand the thrill of driving a car from any angle other than the cockpit. Also part of the fun/realism/frustration withby Fraplee - Other Games
Hello All, Need the help of your collective experiences. Which platform makes for a more "true simulation" PC Sims or console games. A fellow at work stated that the latest installment of Gran Tourismo is unequivocally the most true simulation ever produced, period, end of discussion. Anyone care to respond? Dave Ellis - your opinion would be greatly appreciated. FraPP!!!by Fraplee - Other Games
Thank you Dave Ellis - Encyclopedia with a beating heart! And as a team Red Bull has done what? You really shouldn't write stupid meritless dribble if you don't know what your talking about; especially not when the sheriff is about. I am the very proud owner of a 1988 505 v6 - the car has some balls in case you didn't know Red Bull. My 1987 505 4 banger has well over 250,000by Fraplee - Other Motorsports
Fincent, To answer your first question about no player mode - it does support no player mode. You do not have to enter and retire. You can drive all sessions of a race weekend plus race as an AI driver. Simply start a session and press the letter "I" and your car is now under someone else's(AI) control. @ RRRReméééédiooo - My computer built early 2002: P4 1.8 gig socket 423 Asus MoBo 4xAGP 512 meg RAMBUS GeForce 5900FX Golden Sample 256DDR(Probably the reason things run at all) SB Audigy Gamer XP Pro So you can see... not really a rocket rig. But very well built, not even a hiccup in 4 years, and I don't seem to have any of the problems that guys are always posting about. Frby Fraplee - Other Games
Imran, I have GP2,3,& 4; IRC2, GPL + mods, GTL + mods, GTR2 + mods, F12002(beacuse of a couple of really choice F1'02 mods), F1C + mods, a couple of Rally simulators, and GP500 on my installed on my computer. I am quite happy with rFactor - runs great for me on an old computer, many good mods (and a few not so good). Sorry - not done yet. There are billions of dollars, from numerious bills, not accounted for. America attacked a sovereign nation, we have "disappered" people - sent for vacation to "exotic" countries where they are treated to spa treatments. I hope that after the midterms tomorrow, the investigations begin. It is not enough to simply impeach these people, they needby Fraplee - Off-Topic
@turkey_machine: What do you mean by "would have done the same"? I think that Al Gore, being Bill Clinton's vice president, would probably have kept the same people around him as Bill Clinton had. He probably would have listened to them. He might have actually consulted with his old boss about the world at large. Who knows? He might have even taken up the "get bin ladenby Fraplee - Off-Topic
I couldn't just pass this one by. I think that it is total BS the whole Sadam trial. Sadam was a very bad person no doubt - but he was a stabilizing influence in the region. The removal of Sadam was about the worst thing we could have done. I feel so ashamed of my country right now. To put Sadam on trial without putting both president Bushs on trial is an absolute travesty of justice.by Fraplee - Off-Topic
Hey Guys, Something that has been on my mind for a short while - Jock Villernerve had the bad taste/stupidity to say that people will forget about Michael after he retires. The way that the Championship went down I think that there will always be those of us that feel that MS was robbed of his 8th WDC. If he hadn't broken in Japan he would have won probably. In Brazil a fuel pump failuby Fraplee - F1
@ Locke Cole - I agree with you 100%. In '93 Senna & Schumie had about as equal cars as anyone ever has and Michael was already beating up on Senna with little more than a full season of F1 under his belt. I don't know about acheiving more than Senna ever would have. The two of them taking points, race wins, pole positions, fastest laps from each other would have changed the facby Fraplee - F1
Lets see... JV, isn't he the guy that always talked trash about his team mates; only to have the very same team mates run rings around him all year long? I seem to remember writing a post once entitled "Jacques Villeneuve, the Old Arthritic Barking Dog". It is quite possible that JV's assholiness will be remembered beyond Michael's greatness. Although, I kind of doubtby Fraplee - F1
Humm... What if they didn't have that stupid tyre rule last year? In my mind, now that the tyre manufactures are back on somewhat equal footing, we are starting to see the truth about MS vs Alonso. Kind of delegitimizes all of 2005. Order has been restored and the king is back where he belongs. Oh... I'm such a fanboy ain't I? FraPP!!!by Fraplee - F1
@ Dave Ellis - You guys are alot more civilized than we are. Remember this is still the Wild West over here - just look @ our prez. If you will indulge me for a moment - I am a bit sensitive about the whole gun control issue. I have been raised around guns, I own guns; I don't hunt, I doubt that I could ever kill anything that didn't threaten someone I love. But,by Fraplee - Other Games
Hey zep, No it is dead accurate. How did the bullet that was never handled by the person get into the gun? Look, take away the guns -they will use knives; take away the knives - they will use pointed sticks; take away the pointed sticks - they will use rocks; take the rocks they will use fists. Where does it end? Point is humans are f*#^ed up. Frap By the way I checked out RSC forumsby Fraplee - Other Games
@ Dave Ellis - Guns Do Not hurt people! People hurt people. I have tried to add tracks to GTR2 Demo using the method explained (Thank you Mr.war) but they don't even show up in the menu. In one of the previous posts I noticed that multi-track support had been added to the additional car EXEs. Does that mean that only those cars can drive the additional tracks? If so, is it possibleby Fraplee - Other Games

Hey guys, GP2 was my first video game ever. 1995 I think I purchased it. I drove with a joy stick no aids for the longest time. I never changed anything within the game (Tracks, Carsets, etc...). Now in reading this thread you all have made me nostalgic. I have GP2 running just fine on win XPpro. No mean feat apparently. When I read the topic I thought to myself "oh boy". I am an American. At the moment I say that with a bit of shame. While at times there have been many things to be proud of, at presant I am disgusted with America and Americans. I am sorry but...Anyone that says that F1 is boring in my opinion just doesn't get it and really ought to watch some other series. Every era of F1 has offered something different in terms of the style of racing. For my way of looking at it the number of "manouvers", be they passing or crashing, is inconsiquential. My more argumentative side feels like going back through the archives and dragging out all the negative comments people have made about MS during the years and finishing off by asking something like "Who's your daddy?" or "How do you like me now?" Instead I'll just repeat something I have been saying for years - sit back enjoy the racing and appreciate the FACT thatby Fraplee - F1
