Has anyone ever considered creating a DC++ HUB for hosting the downloads? That way nobody has to pay for hosting downloads. If everybody helps keeping up the files, the downloads won't expire. Also when multiple users share the same file (same size/filename), the download can be done from many differend users (like bittorent) and it will go ultra fast. Yesterday evening I had a close look at the Aida race from 95. And this is my conclusion: - In 95 there are a lot more grandstands. - It looks like the pitentrance in 95 is different from the one in 94. - There are a lot more Advertising pannels in 95. - I still need to work on the elevations of the landscape a lot. Hijacking this thread to post a first WIP screen from Ti Aida The track is based on Edu_13's Ti Aida. He gave me permission some time ago to make a massive upgrade to his track. So whart's new? - Track elevations - remoddeled some runoff areas - new CCline - new Trackcams (based on this years V8 race) - lots and lots new objects (trees, cranes,grandstands...) - completely neby Zjokke - Grand Prix 4
@Benedictus About trackconversions: Can You tell me the tracklength (number of sectors) of your Kyalami track? Form my experience its always a problem having converted tracks scaled the right way (The first version of AdelaideV8 is a perfect example for that) I don't know if todays technology evolved a lot for converting tracks. I'm currently working on an update for Ti Aida (for the 95 mod) Edu_13 gave me permission to update the track (elevations, new landscape, new objects, CCline etc.) Work on this track is almost finished - Still need to do a few grapical things. Ok, here is a 3D studio max question: Can any1 tell me how I merge 2 objects into 1 object in 3D studio max? I exported the dat to 3ds and imported it together with the landscape. I made changes to the track, so now I have to update the land to the new track To make both the track and landscape fit correctly they should be 1 object in 3ds max (editting an object only works for 1 object atby Zjokke - Grand Prix 4

That's good to hear Laurent ! your 1st question: 7; Set 0 => no 8bit alpha (all stencil - yuck) 8 => all 8bit alpha (no stencil - nice) else 1-7 as cut off About my 3rd question: What I mean is this: Some parts are generated as 1 piece (rails) and consist of a few 100/1000 faces. Problem is that gp4 has trouble understanding which object is in front of another object. In my case the rail is in front of the trees which are placed into the back. ok I know this was posted be4, but I can't find it again. 1. I encounter the problem of objects (bridges, trees,...) who are placed behind the rails, but ingame it looks like they are in front of the rails. How can I change this? 2. Yup, I got a black screen too when exitting gp4 and returning to CSM. What I do is press control-alt-delete (taskmanager pop-up) and then press cancel. then I pres exit in CSM. This blackscreen was first shown 1-2 weeks ago after a CSM update.by Zjokke - Grand Prix 4
After a break during summer, the work is continued..... 3 pics from the progress (but there's more done already) Does any1 have pictures of the objects around the track? ( preferred from '94, but other seasons are ok) I got several video's but most of them are blurred or focussed on the cars/track. I remoddeled some corners and generated the grapical part from the track in 3D editor (.3ds) I imported this into MAX, and I also imported the previously modelled landscape. Both objects don't fit anymore, so I have to remodel the edges of the landscape now the problem : I can't connect them as they are both different objects (Max only allows to draw poly's in 1 object, not beby Zjokke - Grand Prix 4

Sorry for the trouble guys, I couldn't find the correct tags for posting an url @ ruboy : yup I used the profile editor, but the bumps you experience were the result of moving, rotating and stretching tracksectors. I suppose you're referring to the chicane before the Jones Straight? At the moment I was remodelling these corners I didn't know that it could result in these bumps.by Zjokke - Grand Prix 4

Does anybody know if detaching face to another part in 3D editor 17.6 causes problems? I experience a CTD (loadingbar is at 100%) with my adelaide track After some testing I found out that the .gp4 causes the trouble. So is detaching in v 17.6 forbidden? Should I do all the detaching in 3DS max? EDIT : After some more testing I finally found the reason of the CTD. It seems the horizonby Zjokke - Grand Prix 4

I remoddeled most corners (Senna "s", brewery,... and I changed the trackwidths. After experimenting a little in 3DS max, this is the current state of the project : I haven't tested it yet ingame but from 3D editor it looks ok. I still have to do the land outside the track and some detaching in 3DS max I don't have much info about elevations outside the track so ifby Zjokke - Grand Prix 4
