Hahaaa, alas no, Ive definitely seen the last of that nerd whoever it was! Norton Systemworks 2003 sits patiently on my PC awaiting his return so it can ditch his virae straight in the quarantine section! Anyway, heres my report on GP4 AFTER I installed the patch. I was expecting to be enabled to play with more graphical settings on full but it still only gave me about 12 FPS with everything onby WedgeAntilles - Grand Prix 4
Oops If I had read back a page I would have found the problem. All I do is use the folder .EXE not the shortcut. Hope DX9 officially comes out and fixes everything.by WedgeAntilles - Grand Prix 4
Hi again all, hope youre all well, sorry its been so long since my last visit but its time for a bit more GP4 action seeing as theyve released this new patch. After installing the patch it tells me I need to have DX 8.1 installed but I have it already, but its the 8.2 Direct X, so why doesnt it recognize this version. Anyone else overcome this prob? Thanks in advance.by WedgeAntilles - Grand Prix 4
Well I tried the patch and it certainly needs fixing coz its still autodetecting my graphics as low-med and giving me 24 FPS which sucks on my my machine which in other games I cant put all graphics to full tilt and get 60fps. Id love to see GP4 run at full FPS with all graphics on.by WedgeAntilles - Grand Prix 4
Wasnt he an Elf in Lord of the Rings? Legolas? LOL Uh Oh, here come the Elf puns now! Elf and Safety and all that!by WedgeAntilles - Grand Prix 4
I go to Control Panel to Remove/Add Programs to find the NvIDIA Graphics Drivers and uninstall from there...leaving the bog-standard graphic drivers before adding the new ones, this info comes direct from NvIDIA so I guess its fairly important. But maybe its just an XP thing, not sure.by WedgeAntilles - Grand Prix 4
Cheers guys, didnt realise my image wasnt working (puts eyes back in the right way)...it even fixed my older posts where images werernt present, unlike some forums I use *cough* EZBoard!by WedgeAntilles - Grand Prix 4
Ive noticed my pit crews doin wierd things, not exactly speedy guys half the time...BTW does anyone know how to stop the BIG YELLOW PAUSE letters in the game Id love to take a paused screenshot and this kinda gets in the way!by WedgeAntilles - Grand Prix 4
Hehe, I got mine a day early but was out Friday playin golf all day D'OH!by WedgeAntilles - Grand Prix 4
My system is banging at the moment.... Pentium 4 1.8ghz GeForce 4 Ti4600 512 MB Rambus Im getting about 25 fps with all the bells and whistles turned on and it looks sweet! But if I have anyhting running in the background such as downloading something from the net then I drop a few fps and have the odd momentary pause (hardly noticeable).by WedgeAntilles - Grand Prix 4
The new NvIDIA drivers for GeForce 4 range should be version 29.42, but dont forget to UNINSTALL the old display drivers first or it wont work (this is a general rule for graphic drivers apparently). To be honest the GeForce 4 MX range was outperformed by the GeForce 3 Ti range, and theres not a lot of price difference.by WedgeAntilles - Grand Prix 4
Yeah I love York too and yes, Ive heard of Bishop Wilton, lots of nice little villages around the city. I dont get to visit here as often as I used to, but like to get back every so often, my gaming habits go in cycles, so its time to get mad with GP4 now. You can only fly and/or shoot enemies for so long I hope a good GP Editor comes out, you know, one for editing car skins etc, I used to enjoby WedgeAntilles - Grand Prix 4
Thanks to the guys at Gamestation in York for letting have yet another game a day early! To be honest Ive never seen the problem with retailers selling a game before launch day, if they have it in stock they should sell it! Anyway...the game, so far so good, but I have noticed the few non-important errors which will be fixed Im sure. All in all, its bloody good, still the same perfect playable cby WedgeAntilles - Grand Prix 4

Aaargh, little brothers eh! If theres anything worse than Microsoft, (big brother :-D) then its little brother...LOL Have you tried making a new user account, and then giving that one admin status, then delete your old admin...just a thought, not fiddled with multi admin stuff before but I believe it can be done!by WedgeAntilles - Grand Prix 3
Ah well, now I didint know you were using a ripped version of XP, that might explain it. I read recently that the reason MS are using the Activation/Registration thing is to stop multiple users and anyone doing so will still be able to use the system but things will some things will not work correctly, such as perhaps your current dilemma. Every time an XP user is online with XP, MS can receive iby WedgeAntilles - Grand Prix 3
Hey Ellis, the TABS are Applications (what you see) Processes (everything running on your machine) Permormance ( graph showing perf ratings) Networking ( if you use a network) Users (what users are logged into your PC) Thats it really, what you have is all you need to shut down stuff, just like in Win98, why you arent seeing the others I dont know, I think you prolly have settings somewhere whiby WedgeAntilles - Grand Prix 3
