For F1 simulation GP4 is best by a long shot in terms of the whole package. F1C has more advanced physics or you can change a lot more like camber and toe. F1C has better FFB too... GTR will be the next best thing imo which is based upon the ISI engine which made F1C although it will be much better than F1C. IT will have GPS tracks, awesome GFX, very realistic sounds, online play. I started mby AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4

The pic below of Locust's tyres looks like the original tyre reflectioning which is perfect, something in the 2003 update must be responsible!!!by AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4
Everything is looking good for my 2003 season except for the reflections on the tyre walls which look odd at particular places.. I use the SRW2003update with 3drims. Although tyres do reflect when new I think no reflection would look better, but how??by AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4
lol 97.3% Chances of contacting Geoff are low to nill..!! F1C is better, better handling , btter sounds, supposedly better multiplayer but that was a con, there's backfires, analogue gauges, better physic parameters but essentially it looks the same. Couple of good mods for it ETCC, PTC, WGTS BUT, it's all about to superseeded by GTR near the end of summer. Prefer GP4 for F1 especiby AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4
Madman is the owner of gp4tweaker website, don't think it's Geoff!!!! Almost impossible to get in touch with him. Post Edited (04-07-04 10:40)by AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4
Just seen thread on track editing which looks promising:pby AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4
True, but this is more about the continuation of the series. There is no possibility of GPseries doing more seasons after 2002 because of Sony's contract with FIA, and so why not end the GP series as a product that self feeds itself... forget about the legalities, this is solely about the series and how it ought to be now and in the future. GP4 is not complete, and if there's no GP5 theby AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4
Hey Variante:0 If Madman is Geoff well he needs to put the GPseries back where it belongs or at least bring it up to it's full potential like GTR is doing for the ISI engine. GP5 only needs the ability to edit and multiplayer, it will be popular because there'll be no other GP game for PC for a long time. If he made a profit on GP4 which i'm sure he did, then everyone that bauby AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4
I refuse to accept GP4 as being conlusive for the series. If i were Geoff I would want the game to last and would recognise that an eager communitty is the only way to do this. A happy/eager communitty means the product is purchased and in demand long after initial release. Easy editing of most aspects of the game and multiplayer = strong communitty... either Geoff is not fussed about the contiby AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4
yes, but he's got it so wrong for a game that's so right!!by AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4
And adding a new netcode would be extremely hard, only Geoff can help us really!!! It's just sad that such an excellent series has come to this point. It's like all Geoff was interested in was making a GPsim and not about making it last. So frustrating........ how can we contact him to at least get an opinion!! Geoff may already be a rich man. I have followed this series as have maby AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4
Whilst discussing PO i've been finding out the maximum stress GP4 can cause my cpu, for example Monaco monsoon. I've had to settle for 36 fps because at some points on the track the fps consistently drops two or three frames. I could run it at 40 and get 40 at some parts but then it will always drop to 31-33 at some parts also.. so to conclude i'd say GP4 was never meant to run smoby AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4

I'd say try re-installing GP4.. or before doing that, delete the f1gstate.sav file and re-do everything. If your CPU is the same as before then FPS won't go up that much, faster gfx card will make it look nicer though. I use an o/c AMD to 2.4 which is smooth at 38fps. PO in GP4 is used to determine different LOD higher than 100 and GP4 will use lower LOD's to make it run better.by AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4

If u've never experimented with the cpu then it'll be at default - sounds like u baught it an all in one package. To see ur cpu speed restart cpu and hit delete on numpad when cpu beeps. In the Bios look under power and if u can change the cpu values then it's overclockable. Tell me what ur mhz is by clicking start, run then type dxdiag. Under system ur cpu speed is shown by Proceby AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4

I did the same thing for 2002 a while back cars.wad and anim.wad gave full credit to authors and had no complaints.by AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4
You can do as many as u like just as long as xxx.tga = xxx_1.tex ..I made a SauberC21 a while back that had around ten different tex files. Or if all your tga's are ready u can stick em all in one and then map faces to it's parts - like regular GP4 tga's.by AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4
the car response and reactions are much more real than F12002!!!! Maybe for F1 but GTR2002mod has incredible physics - if you've not seen this mod in action you rmissing out. It's given me the greatest sense of driving a car........by AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4
there's probably tutorials somewhere but lets c if i can remember..!! Add your material/texture in material editor first then to map objects onto faces switch to object faces mode, and select in SEL mode. Then select the faces u want to map , if you want the bonnet mapped use top view or doors then which ever side view. Then select your texture/material for those faces' attributes Soby AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4
Hey V.. Must be the seventh time i've seen this topic.. The skidding on ice factor is mainly due to a naff skidding sound - sounds nothing like wheels skidding more like a loop of some1 scratchin their arse!! The GTR2002 mod has a more realistic skidding sound and so i copied that one over the F12002. Feels less like skidding and more like you've gone beyond the tyres - and so it makesby AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4
would be cool to use the antialias and anisotropic filters on my Ti4400 more but they eat it's performance. One of these filters greatly increases the quality of image, taking away virtually all edges!! Wiould probably have got the Radeon if I'd have been wiser....by AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4

Probably for all main views, 200metres infront of any view the track LOD kicks in so beyond 200metres they'll be a shitty looking track when PO is too high... sometimes happens at starts where the grid slots morph between high and low track detailby AveryGPFan - Grand Prix 4
