I remember watching an Open University program on the physics of light refraction and reflection but I can't remember all the circumstances which contribute to this phenonomon (I blame aging for that, lol) Great photo though, you have a fantasic view across the city (don't think I'd manage to get much work done if I'd got that to look at all day). Yes it is open to NON-IMechE members as well as Members. The reason I said I'd let people know the route is because (for those who don't know) the railway runs straight through Crewe meaning all the roads converge on 4 bridges. The traffic snarls up very quickly and I know a few of the back roads you could take. But if you are looking at Google maps I guess you could look for them alby Damas - F1
I don't know? When I was at TVR it cost us £8000 to build the Speed Six engine. Whilst I was there I also found out that we could buy the small block Chevy V8 direct from GM for £4000 ready to go. So I think £100,000 is a bit steep just for an engine even if it is a bispoke race engine. Incidently the V12 we put in the Speed 12 went as a whole car (only 2 road cars ever built and both witby Damas - F1

Hey guys, Didn't know whether to put this in here or in the off topic but as time is running out I need it to get exposure. There is a presentation on KERS at Bentley Motors in Crewe coming up this Tuesday if any of you are interested? Here is a link to the IMechE website who are hosting it If anyone needs directions on how to get to Bentley I will be happy to provide them as Iby Damas - F1
Wooohooo!!! Thanks for that bit of info chapsby Damas - F1
I really hope the Beeb use the original Fleetwood Mac version of The Chain and not some remixed version. The original still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up every time I hear it, like the first time almost 24 years ago when I started watching F1. I even play it when I roll up at circuit when I'm racing just to get me in the mood !! lol. So much better than the rubish they usedby Damas - F1
Aparently the sponsors and the final livery are going to be announced on the Thursday before the GP in Melborneby Damas - F1
And to think people actually spent time and effort burying things in 1999 when all they had to do was leave a piece of history like this on the net! Amazingby Damas - F1
Unsure if this has been previously post (appologies if it has) but I've just come across it and as I've recently been doing some research into the origins and development of the English language (for no other reason than to amuse myself) I find this hilarious. Have a read of the sections already translated, it's wonderful.by Damas - Off-Topic

Why have you listed all of the World Champions bar 2? What is the point of this and what are you trying to prove other than you are bored and have nothing of any interest to say? Also whats with the abusive comment? Can't see you lasting long around here pal if you carry on like thatby Damas - F1
Ahh but lets not lose sight of the fact that Labour is "The Working Mans Party" i.e the one for the people !! Don't make me F*&^ing laugh !!! If they care about the only sport we are world leaders in then they should put their money (or our money as it is) where their mouth is. It would be far better than blowing money on an Olympics nobody wants or a National stadium inby Damas - F1
I remember Sir Stirling Moss once saying that the number on the car never mattered to him. He said he always prefered the number 7 to number 1. He said that number 1 was just easier to paint on the side of the car !! lol. Shows how times have changed heh?by Damas - F1
Any race from 2004 onwards at Barcelona. Total Borefest, might be a good track to drive but year after year it produces some of the most boring races on the callender with less overtaking than we see at Monaco.by Damas - F1
Sorry about that. Please accept my apology I did not mean to cause offence. I was mearly following on from your Osama Bin Laden post and highlighting the wild inaccuracy of this name meaning generator.by Damas - Off-Topic

What about when Kimi paid $200,000 for Sharon Stone's Corvette that he didn't even want? That was for charity, lol :P Also check this out (opened my eye's TBH) -"Charity: Donates a lot to charity especially children's charities"- Although over all I do agree with you Chet. I don't see the point in these. F1 car's are not there to look pretty and that one with the closed cockpit is all out of proportion. The others show some artistic talent undoubtedly, but a severe lack of a grasp on what Motorsport is all about. It's not a fashion show. Sorry just don't see the point. Maybe I'm just getting old, lolby Damas - F1
