In addition to speculation that Mercedes-Benz is preparing to buy the remaining sixty per cent of McLaren, the German press reported on Wednesday that the deal was signed at a Hockenheim meeting in July. Auto Motor Und Sport magazine wrote that team principal - and 30 per cent shareholder - Ron Dennis met with Mercedes officials Thomas Weber and Bodo Uebber prior to the German GP. Maybe if they put more glory into winnning individual races than winning the championship, we would get great battles. But that's never going to happen :Pby flat tyre - F1
Most of the time, I only change aerodynamics and gears in my car setup. As you all know, aerodynamics affect speed/grip. But, when so many different things affect the same thing, eg tyre pressure, how do you know which to change? Why change some aerodynamics and then tyre pressure, why not do it all in one?by flat tyre - Grand Prix 4

I miss Eddie, the yellow livery, and the old team spirit... Midland is so boring.by flat tyre - F1
Eddie Jordan submitted an entry to enter in a team for the 2008 championship, but it was turned down as Prodrive was chosen. Do you think that if another opportunity arises, he may bring back Jordan? I really miss that teamby flat tyre - F1

Was Muzza sacked or did he retire? Probably the latter, but if he was sacked, then perhaps we could pester ITV until they get him back! (and get rid of James Allan)by flat tyre - F1
Do you think a repeat will ever be shown on any other channel? I hate Sky - they take away all of the decent programs to MAKE people buy Skyby flat tyre - Other Motorsports

Seeing as we have plenty of boring-looking cars this season, I think that we should post pics of our favourite-looking F1 cars here Here're two of mine (I've got to leave some for other's to post!): Williams FW18: Benetton B201 (yes, really ):by flat tyre - F1
No politics, driver personalities, no traction control, slick tyres, ban aerodynamics near the rear wheels (what're they called? I can't remember and it's bugging me!), and more private teams would suit me nicely. It would also be great if Jordan came back - it was one of the few teams that added spice to the grid. But I know that won't happenby flat tyre - F1
I really liked the old, pre-2004 information feed that was shown on TV, the 'yellow' style one. The new one is too bland, and for me, the old one is a lot nicer to look at. Maybe if they were to implement the new features into the old look it would be great.by flat tyre - F1
Oh blimey... is it me or is F1 losing all of the people that make it interesting? Or am I looking back with rose-tinted glasses?by flat tyre - F1
The 90's were so good... come on, they had POWER RANGERS!!! And cheese n' chive crisps! And cool cartoons! And 2D games! Ah, the good times :P makes me realise how rubbish this decade is...by flat tyre - Off-Topic
Can I just show you this online game where you can play a simulated motorsport season, inlcuding F1, with other people. And it's free I've joined a 2006 F1 season, and it's really great fun! I recommend it to everybody here.by flat tyre - Off-Topic
We've got a combined VHS and DVD recorder. With that, you just shove the tape and a DVD in and you can make a copy onto the DVD. They codst about £150 in the UK, though...by flat tyre - Off-Topic

I got it, it's actually pretty good. The graphics look much better when you play the game for yourself. And for the people wondering why the graphics look so 'bad' is that there are 22 cars AT A TIME, not overall. GT looks so good because it only has 6 cars at a time.by flat tyre - Other Games
I've recently installed the v1.13 patch, GP3edit, and the program that decrypts GP3 and allows you to mod and play with no CD. Before I installed these, it was fine, but now it keeps on crashing! Anyone know why, and how to sort it out?by flat tyre - Grand Prix 3

Thanks for the suggestion, but that won't run on my Windows 98 laptop.by flat tyre - Grand Prix 3
I'm so grateful tht safety is so much better now than it used to be. Somebody on another forum made me watch a video (which I really wished I hadn't now) to demostrate something he wanted to say. It showed several fatal crashes... one of them was Tom Pryce's - that made me feel sick. I now have respect as to how brave the drivers and (after seeing Pryce's accident) marshals arby flat tyre - F1
I've got Formula 1: The Autobiography, which covers every year of F1 in detail, and it's a very good read. I was wondering if there were any other F1 books of the same quality? Preferably, I'd like a book covering the technical side of F1, but any topic would do.by flat tyre - Off-Topic
