The times are never really official, since there's no single body taking care of the timing. The teams take their own equipment to record laptimes, and obviously they can pick up other cars transponders. Though the laptimes are usually displayed in the media centre by race control, these aren't always completely reliable. Last year Honda got their transponders mixed up, and everyoneby J i m - F1
I'd also point out that the test is still on at time of this post.by J i m - F1
I'd say it's pretty certain that they are racing an adapted RA107, re-designated SA08. It's the same thing as last year, they raced an adapted RA106, which they re-designated the SA07. It's passed the crash test. I doubt they'll be racing the SA07, otherwise why have been testing the RA107 during testing. Doubt we will see the initial race livery until Melbourne, thby J i m - F1

Yes it could be a "blanket" ban. I think it can be done. Other aerodynamic changes on the horizon are big changes to the diffuser, and this isn't an FIA "light-bulb" idea. It is a proposal that was put forward and investigated by a working group made up of the team's technical directors. In any case, F1 cars have to see a drastic reduction in down-force from neby J i m - F1
It's very likely, though as far as I am aware, not final.by J i m - F1
It's not uncommon for journalists to have tests in F1 cars. But generally the revs are limited, and they're sent out on intermediate tyres.by J i m - F1

Asmer dominated the British F3 championship last year, and he has been fairly impressive in his tests so far with BMW. He seems like a worthy talent, a bit Kimi like in personality though. As for Klien, I guess this is his ploy to avoid national service, it that works for him. I think he's been under rated in this thread, he certainly did a respectable job for RBR. But after his year as Hby J i m - F1
Circuit de Catalunya is a good driving circuit, but it isn't very good for F1 racing. Mind you they did their best to ruin it with that silly chicane implemented last year. As for the Hamilton abuse, it's a shame that few idiots can create such a big problem. I welcome the FIA's stance, but at the same time their tone against the circuits authorities was uncalled for. Williams have reportedly gone home early. They didn't feel they got on top of the wing stay problem. It's a bit of a disappointment, since the same wing was used at Valencia and was fine. But the nature of the Barcelona track brought the failure forward. Which is bad news, because the Barcelona track is more representative of the tracks to be raced on than Valencia. LMAO! That in a funny kind of way reminds me of the McLaren MP4/10 from 1995. In other news, Nakajima had a heavy accident in the FW30, due to reportedly a technical fault. Apparently the front of the car is a bit mashed.by J i m - F1
It's probably the race livery, it's a different shade of blue. But we had about 4 other test liveries to go through yet.by J i m - F1
I think you all make far too much issue of this TC subject. The fact of the matter is that most junior series do not have TC, so all of the drivers have reached F1 without out the use of TC. Some have experience of F1 with out TC. Many have GP2 experience without TC. These are also the best drivers in the world (kind of). And it is not going to take them long to adapt their styles to meet theby J i m - F1
Now, I haven't bothered browsing these forums for a while, not that I was ever a busy user here anyway. But it seems to me, brnco, that you have a knack of destroying a thread. This was flowing nicely before you put a stupid remark in that was completely off topic. I'm not surprised that you've been jumped on to be honest. He had a superb start to 2006. But as soon as it was clear that the FW28 was as reliable as a Ferrari F92A, and the performance disappeared he started to struggle somewhat. He made a few rookie errors. Crashing out on the first lap at Hockenheim and Interlagos for example. But he was intelligent enough to learn from those mistakes. In 2007 his raw pace returned, and he mated that with maturityby J i m - F1
Shape wise the FW30 is really quite pretty, save from a couple of winglets and the bridge-wing over those. though on this car they don't detract quite as much from the looks as the other cars. The dark navyish blue suits the car very well, it's just a shame this is for the special edition test liveries and will be replaced by final race livery package the same or similar to last yearby J i m - F1
It's nice to have little bit more variety, but apart from the bridge there really isn't anything that memorable about this layout. Still, that's only a on-board virtual lap, I'm sure the reality will have a different impact altogether.by J i m - F1

Well if those are fake, then it is a supreme photoshop effort. The best I've seen. It's really difficult to say that it isn't real. How ever, I do not belive that is the FW29, as it isn't due to be launched until Feb 2nd. And it is unlike Williams to run their cars before they launch them. That is a fake, no question. Although it is very well done. It's an ugly solution this CDG concept. I belive the teams are actually investing a less radical more traditional alternative. Because if Mosley manages to push this CDG bollocks through, I don't think I'd be able to bear to look at F1 cars anymore. --- It doesn't really look like a Le Mans car. But I seeby J i m - F1

To be honest, the loss of the Bus stop as it's been the last couple of years is no real loss. We lost the bustop after 2002. I'm still of the view that the changes to Spa are not nearly as bad as they could be. Okay, we're probably losing some iconic landmarks and imagery which is always a shame, but the main essesence of the track remains, and the facilites will be much better,by J i m - F1
It wouldn't surprise me if Mika did some more test days this year. But I now also thing a F1 race comeback is unlikely. Today's evidence shows that he would need a good winters of testing to get up to speed again, such as F1 has moved forwards in the 5 years he's been retired from the sport.
