Yup, hope we hear that the McLaren deal is done soon!by Joe_Satriani - F1
Indeed! Newey + Raikkonen + Vettel sounds awesome!by Joe_Satriani - F1
I just hope he doesn't go to Toyota. I doubt they'll be able to deliver a championship winning car for next year. Kimi's best bet still seems to be McLaren. In a Q&A today at formula1.com, Martin Whitmarsh was full of praises for Kimi, so hopefully it happens.by Joe_Satriani - F1
Which is just another way of saying that he'll not be working with Briatore anymore, but not reallyby Joe_Satriani - F1
Sutil was the lightest of the trio by a good margin. So I think they were planning ahead for when Sutil make his stop, to tell Jenson to push and pass Heikki. At least, that was what I thought when I heard the transmission.by Joe_Satriani - F1
Although I agree with you guys, I think the Brawn car isn't helping much. If it were only down to Jenson, I think Rubens would be doing a lot better, and he isn't. I think it all depends on Interlagos. If Brawn runs decently there, then the championship will possibly be over. I'm rooting for Vettel to be honest. Would be nice to see him win the last two races to become world chaby Joe_Satriani - F1
Interesting that Kimi got on so well...either they are super light, or Ferrari has some genuine pace.by Joe_Satriani - F1
I watched half an hour of FP1 yesterday night. Brawn were pretty useless in the rain. Dunno how hard they were trying though.by Joe_Satriani - F1
Well, you can't choose to use a 9th engine in your fourth race for instance. That idea would only work if you are already on your 8th engine of the season. Before that whatever engine you use will be part of the 8 engines you get. So you can't plan ahead like that.by Joe_Satriani - F1

Everything should fall in place now that this is confirmed. Wouldn't be surprised if McLaren confirms its lineup in the next couple of weeks.by Joe_Satriani - F1
Ferrari finally confirmed on Wednesday that Fernando Alonso will race for the team next season, replacing Kimi Raikkonen as Felipe Massa’s team mate. Giancarlo Fischella will continue in the role of reserve driver. Alonso, who has spent the bulk of his Formula One career with Renault, has signed a three-year agreement with Ferrari, starting in 2010. “We are very proud to welcome to our teamby Joe_Satriani - F1
That's not what Martin Whitmarsh said. I remember him saying something along the lines of: "Kimi does speak a lot less than other drivers, but his input on development was always very valuable and precise". If someone has access to F1-live archives you can dig that up.by Joe_Satriani - F1
I think what happened with Raikkonen is that Ferrari expected him to lead the team like Schumacher did. But Kimi will never be that guy. He just wants to get on with the job, which is drive the car and give his input when needed. Ferrari is used to having a guy that will talk to everyone on the team, and so on, so maybe Alonso will work well there.by Joe_Satriani - F1

It might be useful exiting spoon corner as well. Usually it's hard to follow other cars there and using KERS might be enough to negate that problem and have a go into the final chicane.by Joe_Satriani - F1
^^ I agree. I think McLaren will bring out the best of Kimi again. Hamilton did fine with Alonso in 2007 and should be ok with Kimi as well.by Joe_Satriani - F1
2008 was a half-assed year as well IMO. Just like this one. At least you can say that Hamilton is faily young, and being not so consistent makes sense. Button on the other hand doesn't really have excuses IMO. He has been here long enough to not have that. Same as Barrichello.by Joe_Satriani - F1
Yup, the best race track on F1 is back finally. I don't care how boring a race can be in this track, it's fricking Suzuka! Will be interesting to see what times they do here...the track record still belongs to Kimi with the mp4/20. 1:31.540 if I'm not mistaken.by Joe_Satriani - F1
I think this is more of a safety issue than gaining advantage. Little slips like this can send the wrong message if not punished. Same thing for the white line stuff...the white line is there for a reason: To make sure that cars entering and exiting the pitlane have a safe route to it. So if you go over it, you are putting yourself and other in danger.by Joe_Satriani - F1
Locke Cole Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > If he wins this year, that > total's going to be very similar, if not better, > to those achieved in '03, '05, '06, '07 and '08. I disagree. He might get close to 03 and 08. Maybe, 07, if he wins the last 3 races of the season (And that's a big if, since the dude hasnby Joe_Satriani - F1
Next year is shaping up to be very good. Alonso at Ferrari, Kimi at McLaren...Epic battle in sightby Joe_Satriani - F1
As I said before though, as long as Kimi gets a competitive car for next year, I'm happy. Would be nice if Kimi won the championship against Ferrari, just to rub it inby Joe_Satriani - F1

I personally think this whole deal is rather boring. A decision has been made and doesn't seem like they'll change it, so let it restby Joe_Satriani - F1
ROFL! Too true!by Joe_Satriani - F1
Well, I just hope he drives a competitive car next year. I think McLaren would be a good choice. They know him and would probably push him more than Ferrari ever did.by Joe_Satriani - F1
I prefer to reserve judgment until we see at least an onboard video or something.by Joe_Satriani - F1
I bet that if it was Ferrari it wouldn't be a problem...they would just tell the other teams to shove it, and make their engines better. It's funny in a way. Now that Mercedes finally have the best engine, they need to make it worseby Joe_Satriani - F1
