I just dont know what to make of this season tbh, really not enjoying it as its not real if you know what i mean. For the 1st 10 or so laps of this race cars at the back were lapping 2 seconds a lap faster than the front runners. Yes clever by merc but come on this is meant to be F1. No one in this race looked like they were ever driving 100%, they were leaving so much room on exists etc wby marcl - F1
Webber was well in control of the race, people seem to forget vettel even dropped behind Lewis after the stops and had Lewis not had to turn his engine down Vettel could have well ended up 3rd. Webber done everything right in the race, pitted at the right times and even got a good start. I know Vettel done wrong for the team but I would be lying if I said I did not want Rubens or Eddie to pby marcl - F1
Nico would not have got much further up the road, he was also low on fuel not as low as Lewis though but Lewis was trying to race the RBR cars Nico was not. Am sure had Merc has a car closer to them they would have let Nico pass. I think this whole start with less fuel thing as its faster is catch 22. How can it be faster if you have to slow down later on. Lewis was right up with Webber bby marcl - F1
The 2007 race was on the other night annd what a close race that was with Lewis, Kimi and Massa. That race would have been ruined by DRS. I am getting so fed up with these tyres now, just give them tyres that dont fall apart its stupid. It does not spice up the racing at all as when the tyres go the driver gets passed with no problem. Its a fake way of getting people to pass.by marcl - F1
Can cancel my sky sports contract next week Sky customers are going to get HD and 3D in 2013, us on virgin get the normal channel thats all and its not free. So they can stick it, it was crap anyway.by marcl - F1
I worked night shifts 15 years ago for about 5 years. 15 years on and I still find it really hard to sleep at night and I keep falling asleep in the day. It destroys your body clock for tbh I dont think you ever recover. I lost friends due to it as I was never around when they were and they never understood why I slept on a Saturday even though I had no work that night.by marcl - Off-Topic
I cannot see him getting back into F1 simply due to the space problem with his arm, which they always said could be the problem. Time will tell but I think Rally or DTM is his best bet now.by marcl - F1
Im more shocked that Merc have just updated the car from last year. Lewis has already said it does not even have the levels of down force he had at mclaren last year! They really dont have a clue what they are doing there.by marcl - F1
Yes just seen it as well, wonder if they will cover the step when the final version is out? Looked like the noise drop is steaper Just looks like a tidy up of last years cars as many are expected to be.by marcl - F1
See this is the thing, most cars this year will just be updates of the 2012 cars. Merc wont be able to do this or they will have another poor year. It will be interesting to see just what they do. They need to find over a second just to get level with the top cars of 2012, the top cars from last year might only find a few tenths here and there.by marcl - F1
I really wanted to see Lewis have a go in last years Merc so we could get an idea if the car was really that poor. I read an interview that he tested the 2013 merc on the simulator and said it was not at the level of last years Mclaren.by marcl - F1
I think the Williams last year was better than the Sauber and Merc but both drivers wasted it. I also think it was a mistake not to give Bruno the whole race weekend, by race time he was near enough lapping the same time as his team mate.by marcl - F1
He reminds me of Alesi, berger and some others. The speed is there but does not know when to give up a place or when not to attack. He really must sort this out this year as he cost Williams a lot of points last year.by marcl - F1
I actually think the changes Merc are making are for the better. Brawn has had his chances to get the team back up front and keeps getting it wrong. The problem for him is the same problem MS had, testing. They can no longer test and test to put right car problems like they used to at Ferrari. MS was a mistake, and Nico just seemed to give up. F1 is no longer a sport where tyres are designby marcl - F1
He could have lost his job due to how crap MS was and that the team made little progress.by marcl - F1
Well the FIA have said there is no case and the lights on the wheel mean @#$%& all its just the flags that count. vesuvius was correct.by marcl - F1
The yellows are controlled by race control though and that is what they should be using, the lights were put there as drivers complained they could not see the flags. It depends what everyone is reading.by marcl - F1
The green flag that was shown does not mean the yellows are not valid, that green flag is to tell the drivers leaving the pit lane that they are free to re join. When Vettel makes the pass the yellows are out. It was the same in the USA a few years back, MS passed a car under green but turn 1 was under yellow but as the move was complete it was ok. Vettel did not pass under green he passby marcl - F1
It got missed in the race and there is nothing they can do about it now. Had the penalty been applied after the race Alonso would be champ as Vettel would have been out the points. A pass under yellow is not allowed even if someone backs off, but Massa is also meant to have let Alonso through under yellows but there is no video of that.by marcl - F1
No there is a video of vettel passing an STR under yellow flags, the yellow lights were even on his dash.by marcl - F1
I started watching F1 in 1988 and was straight away a Senna fan, there was just something about the guy they way he drove and the way he was. I have seen so much over the years, so many drivers come and go and teams. My favorite year was 1993, the battles with prost and senna was simply amazing. Senna had no right in that car to even be fighting the Williams, and of course his wins for meby marcl - F1
Its to late now results confirmed. It was the same in 2007 when mclaren found that Williams and BMW had fuel in the car that was chilled and not legal. Senna in 1993 got a penalty in Brazil for the same thing Vettel got away with, passing a car under yellow that slowed down and moved off line. I assume most people have seen the video by now anyway.by marcl - F1
tbh the whole sky team needs to go, including brundle and croft as they have also been weak this year. The whole sky deal is one big mistake, even on their best viewing figures they get no where near what the BBC on a bad race.by marcl - F1
True I forgot about them, but even they went and came back.by marcl - F1
Whats even more scary is how many teams remain since the 90's. Its just Mclaren, Ferrari and Williams the rest have either been taken over or shut down.by marcl - F1
When the track went damp in Brazil Button was faster than Lewis, and tbh honest Lewis only got the lead back due to the saftey car but thats how it goes. He was 40 seconds behind, but the same happened with Lewis in Sepang he was miles out infront. When the track went more dry Lewis was the faster of them, we dont know how it would have ended tbh but I think Button would have probably won.by marcl - F1
Heikki has had his chance in 2 top teams and tbh that latter part of 2012 he has not driven that well. As for Bruno who is expected to go to Caterham its a huge step backwards. Started in HRT then Renault then Williams and now all the way back again. I really dont think the guy is that bad.by marcl - F1
Yes I agree Button has done better than I thought he would do, but this year he has been shocking at times and that is what worries me about Mclaren going forward. Hes more like what DC was at Mclaren, win the odd race but there to backup the faster driver. He might get on better being the lead driver, but win another championship? I do not think so unless the mclaren is a lot faster thanby marcl - F1
Well in there 3 years together Lewis beat Button twice, despite losing 130 odd points this year he still beat him. Button may have beaten him in Brazil, hard to say we will never know but Nico would have beat them both Lewis drove so well this year and lost the title due to problems with his car not his head. Its ok looking at the points scored over the 3 years etc but that does not sby marcl - F1
