The family have just said this is the injury he has diffuse axonal injury Chances are he will never wake up again.by marcl - F1
Nah thats not the one. It was on a street track and michael A drove into the back of it coming round a blind corner and Mario went into the back of him. People have also pointed out that lifting under yellows on a corner can also cause a car to snap away as you lose downforce.by marcl - F1
This could have been worse. They was also an Indy Car races years and years ago where they crashed into a truck on the track, was probably over 10 years ago now.by marcl - F1
I just wonder what will happen this week as many drivers already said the walls are too close to fast corners. I just dont want to see a repeat of what happened in 1994 after Imola when so many changes were made.by marcl - F1
A lot of people forget this one as well and how lucky Alesi was. This was from 1990 Canada and shows what happens if you just leave a car in a run off area. So you either put the safety car out everytime someone stops or you carry on as it is.by marcl - F1
I just don't like it that people are saying the crash was his own fault as he was driving to fast under yellow flags, were the yellows really out or had they all gone green? The point I'm saying is even going slow you can spin as the caterham did. I still cannot get over how shocking the video is.by marcl - F1
The zone was green when he got there we'll post 12 was, no idea what the flag was at post 11. He went off at post 12 but lost control between 11 and 12.by marcl - F1
Just seen another video and they were waving the green flag before the jcb was clear, it was double yellow but was green for a good 30 seconds before he got there. If anyone is following taki on Twitter he's posted it. I don't think they will ever race on this track again tbh, as people have said even without the truck he was heading for a nasty crash. Plus they got the flags totby marcl - F1
Would it have made and difference with the higher nose on the car? The car did lift the truck and the car near enough cleared it, this could have been so much worse. Not saying its not bad but you know what I mean. Had the car not lifted the jcb then he would have died.by marcl - F1
The videos have all been removed Found another link and omg he is lucky to even be alive. Really shocked and upset by it. In slow mo you can see him trying to get lower in the car, its so upsetting he would have known he was heading for it and there was nothing he could do. I was expecting him to hit it side on like Sutil said I never expected him to go in nose first like that and liby marcl - F1
I dont think it was too wet at the end of the race, most drivers seem to be saying it was still ok. Over the years I am sure we have all seen races in worse conditions. Yes some were stopping for full wets but Lewis was still setting fastest laps. I know this is going to sound totally wrong but I hope they do not take what ever changes they make too far. They need to get rid of the standiby marcl - F1
Yes mansell was a twat as normal trying to make it about himself. But did anyone actually listen to Vettel and that's why he was booed. He said he was lucky that there was a red flag or he would not have finished 3rd. I mean come on a driver just got hurt and he's lucky? What a thing to say!by marcl - F1
Tbh it sounds like he is off to Mclaren as they are meant to have held talks again and are at an advanced stage. Alonso and Button would make a strong team to get Honda up to speed, I think that is the line up they would go for.by marcl - F1
And today the latest is Vettel and Alonso will be swapping seats for next year. I actually wonder if Alonso will sit out next year.by marcl - F1
Its on the bbc gossip, would share the link but when you read it on a mobile it does not let you. Berger has said its not true ) Which probably means it is true lol After reading the Alonso interview on Autosport it sounds to me that he will leave Ferrari probably a year earlier than he planned. He probably did sign for another team for 2016 but ferrari are looking long term so they migby marcl - F1
Really does sound like Alonso is off to Mclaren at the end of this season, more and more people are saying the deal is done and could even be anounced this weekend. Whats not clear is who will be his team mate, many are saying they will stick with Button for one more year and either keep Kevin as a reserve of place him at another team for a year who will then get Honda engines for the followingby marcl - F1
Really did enjoy the race. I think a number of teams really did drop the ball trying to get to the end of the race on old tyres. Perez was miles behind and then pitted again and made up more time than he lost. Drivers like Massa, Bottas, Nico etc all blew the chance to catch and pass the rbr cars and Alonso. New tyres were 5 seconds a lap faster in 5 laps they would have made up the timeby marcl - F1
Austria Lewis was faster all weekend as well, same in Canada but both times Lewis messed up in quali.by marcl - F1
Thanks for clearing that up no idea why they reported he lost the lot, maybe after looking at them they found they were not as bad as they thought.by marcl - F1
I wonder if he has a car problem and they need to change it. A lot of cars are also meant to be running at reduced power to try and get through the year without needed the 6th engine or parts. I wish they would do a chart of who had used what. We know Lewis lost an entire set in Hungry.by marcl - F1
I bet Mal is really happy that he left Williams lol.by marcl - F1

Then you get the problem with gears, they are fixed so they could just hit the limit too early.by marcl - F1
Mixed views on how close it will be. Merc, Williams did not go for a low down force car at Spa and they will in Italy. What this will mean is they will be faster on the straights so I dont think anyone will get close to Merc. Plus even at Spa on the start of lap2 Merc were gone Vettel was about 1.5 behind. Yes he messed up on lap1 so its hard to tell but even when Nico had a broken wing theby marcl - F1
But in the BAR he was not that far off Button and sometimes he was actually the faster of the two, he just crashed a lot and make mistakes that he still makes to this day.by marcl - F1
Probably just a fine.by marcl - F1
shame it took a telling off for him to finally say sorryby marcl - F1
I am not a fan of team orders and I dont think Nico should be dropped for a race. Simple penalty is start him from the pit lane at Monza, there is every chance he will still get points. Tbh its now got to the point where its being taken to far. The thing that bugs me is nico did not even say sorry, when lewis hit button in germany and did not even effect buttons race he said sorry. lewisby marcl - F1
Again your missing what I mean. Nico could not pass Vettel due to the straight line speed of the RBR car. Then he got to close and messed it up under braking for the bus stop meaning he had to stop early and that is where I feel he lost the race. rather than just go straight on Nico tried to slow down to make the corner, he should have given up the move and protect his tyres. Hungry I thougby marcl - F1
Tbh I think Lewis and loads of people put him under so much pressure this year. He moved to Merc for 2014, everyone said it would be his year in the best car etc. Nico we all knew was not a slow driver but not many expected him to keep up as in the past he has not managed to go flat out a whole race. The year started well with a pole than bang 0 points, Lewis then destoyed Nico at Sepang butby marcl - F1
