Remember the reaction when Ferrari signed Massa as a test driver, then look what happened he became a race winner and on occasion faster than MS.
I don't expect Gutierrez will get much running tbh, I have never seen him as a great driver in f1 or GP2.

F1 I really hope they can keep it up next year.
how much development did Merc do on the car in 2014 as a mate of mine thinks none since Canada.

F1 I did respect nico today for carrying on and to drive the car home, seeing he had problems with the engine brakes etc it was brave and his statement after the race was nice.
Merc next year really do need to get on top of the problems.

F1 Well done lewis right man won.
Feel a bit bad for nico but lewis was ahead anyway and there is a bit of karma there for Monaco and spa.
Not a great race at all.
Well done to Williams both drivers and to Dan r great drive.

F1 Yeah well it's made quiet a few people on Twitter and me to sound like idiots as we were commenting on stuff that's not true.
Also notice it was only the teams not moaning about money that were tested
by
marcl
-
F1 Yeah just read that too.
So why is Horner making out it was just them tested then and singled out?
by
marcl
-
F1 The rbr press release says only their cars were tested.
It's all over Twitter but am on an app so cannot post direct here, will look and tell you who posted what. But it's meant to be both cars. Will do it tomorrow if you want as am about to get some sleep, sorry.
Quali finished at 1pm and the were not dq until about 5pm that's after the 2 hour limit.

F1 I think there is a lot more to this than we are being told tbh. For all we know they past the test but the song was then found to be illegal.
It took hours to dq them and from what's been said only rbr was checked. They have been checked all weekend and it was found on both cars, so how did it pass Thursday and Friday but not today?

F1 I've been saying about the Williams wing all weekend, I've not noticed rbr flexing tbh.
Force India boss has just slated them on Twitter.
From what others are saying it is a spring and they will remove it for the race. They have probably got away with it all year.
by
marcl
-
F1 Wow if they were doing that the question should be how long have they been doing that for. Have they finally found out what they were doing for years?
Vettel is rather pissed off that he's not allowed to test for Ferrari next week, just putting that out there.
We have all seen the wing flex for years.

F1 They said other teams are also doing the same thing, Williams certainly are you can see it on board.
by
marcl
-
F1 Yeah but remember earlier this year nico said he does not play mind games
I can see lewis going for it at the first turn and if Nico turns in that's his choice, lewis needs to be really careful of the fast Williams on a straight.
Rbr dq from quali flexing wings, Williams wings were as well yet nothing said.

F1 Got tbh I really don't like the side of Nico we are seeing this weekend, I'm just finding him really annoying and his mind games are stupid.
He cracked under pressure in Italy then totally @#$%& up in Russia and was lucky the tyres lasted like they did.

F1 They said in the build up on sky that customer teams do not have access to the extra power boost so they need to do a better job on the car.
by
marcl
-
F1 So far Nico has not looked great in quali 1 or 2, he will probably go and stick it on pole now lol.
Also I had not idea merc stopped all the customer teams using that extra power setting, that's not right.
Great pole lap by Nico, it's all set up now for a good race. The Williams look very fast.

F1 Let's be honest though lewis could well have won this championship 2 races ago, Nico has had a good year but I think next year everything being equal lewis will beat him again. Yes I'm assuming lewis will get the championship, he should tbh baring car problems or a crash.

F1 I don't think Magnussen has done a bad job tbh but he has not really been that close to button, I just think he moved to f1 one year too early and should have had a year in GP2.
If I was McLaren I would probably keep Button for one more year and put Magnussen as a tester and place him in a smaller team if possible.
As for Vandoorne not sure about him, I think he needs another year in G

F1 Its not the first time that has happened to Williams this year.
The gap 1.7 seconds to the next car! Yes it will probably get closer but bloody hell.
by
marcl
-
F1 All I want this weekend is both Mercs to be reliable so the title is not decided by a break down.
A nice straight forward race between Nico and Lewis would be good to see just like in Brazil and the USA.

F1 Is it true that Rubens has paid to drive for caterham this weekend? I really hope its not true.

F1 Brundle also seems really fed up with F1 and I don't blame him. He seems fed up with the politics and all this engine and strike talk just like most of us are.
The problem is Brundle does not seem to able to hide as well as the others do, you can see it in his face.

F1 Tbh it was the same last year, towards the end of the year they all seem to get bored or just tired.
by
marcl
-
F1 I still think lewis will get pole and win the next race even in a poor car he's always been great there.
by
marcl
-
F1 Twice now lewis has gone into the last race with a chance to be world champion it's nearly gone wrong with him trying to get only the place he needs.
I'm hoping this time he goes and just tried to win.

F1 Was a good race well done to nico for holding off lewis, was a race lewis blew with that spin but was good to see him try and win the race than finish 2nd. Lewis I think was the faster of the two today.
Roll on the last race all being well it should be a one two.
Well done massa he's really come alive again this year was great to see him on the podium.
Piquet yet again showed himse

F1 Yeah the fuel feed problem stopped him getting out the pits for his 2nd run so he got traffic.
by
marcl
-
F1 That was a great session great pole lap by nico, from what's been said massa was on a lap to get pole but blew it.
This race could be won by any of the top 4.
The start is going to be very interesting, but it's going to rain so that could really throw up a shock.
Lewis has also got more wing on his car which is why he is faster in sector 2.
He don't need to win so will

F1 Hungry lewis started at the back not his fault.
Silverstone lewis made an error in quali but was closing in before nico had his problem.
Canada who knows what would have happened tbh.
There does seem to be a patten though, soft tyres nico is faster but Hards and medium lewis is better.
I'm not saying nico is not good as he is, he should have moved on from Spa now I cannot believe
by

-
F1 Tbh I put nico in the same league as dc, Rubéns, Webber etc.
A great number two that on their day no one can stop them but they just lack that extra bit to make them be able to beat their better team mate.
I was impressed with Nico in some races but on paper he really has been well and truly beaten by lewis. In the best car to only win 4 times when your team mate has won 10 is poor, plus o
