What would be the difference between using a 128 MB SSD and a 128 MB USB Flash Drive?by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Hey there Mortal, Couple hardware questions: Somewhere I read that GP4 will only run through a single core anyway so to get a quad core for example will do one no good. Is that true? Also, not to sound dumb but what is SSD? Thanks, AustinF1 AKA The Colonelby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Can the standard 2001 season driver numbers be edited in to work with this enhancement?by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
I am obliged. I've downloaded them and will try the alternative one out in a day or two!by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Out of curiosity, what was your old PC and what is your new one. I have a ten year old HP with XP Home, SP2 (SP3 won't load), AMD Athlon 64X2 4200 processor, 2 GIG RAM, Gforce GTX 750 card. I have issues on some tracks and mods and wonder what a newer PC would do for me. Thanks, Colonelby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
I have used the decrypted GP4.exe. That is has me so frustrated.by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
I've tried to use CMAGIC before but could not make it work. Kept getting a message about the GP4.exe not decrypted (?). Really appreciate the replies "mates"!by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Andrew, I have a lot of that issue in your post regarding installing a new track and the cars seem to be floating as much of the track graphics are missing. Did you get that all resolved? What was the cause and what was the fix? Thanks sincerely, AustinF1by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Yes indeed. Here is an example of what I have:by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
I have been working on my GP4 simulator for a few weeks after having it in mothballs for a few years. The addition of all these newly created tracks and mods has turned it into a whole new game. What I have done is to fully install a fresh GP4 program and update it with the 9.6 patch and decrypted no CD patch and then make a complete copy of that whole GP4 file, thus having two identical folders,by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
I found that feature, but that whole bottom menu line is "ghosted out". How did you get that Marlboro livery on your Ferrari?by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
I believe I had seen a post addressing this before but I cannot find it so pardon me if this is repetitive. I have began to install many mod tracks and intermittently confront the following problem: When I install a different track through the GPxPatch track management program, some of these have blatant graphics problems. As soon as the track loads and the live opening screen appears, the car (oby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Perfect! I appreciate the quick reply very much!by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Not for certain, but I recall that in GP2 or GP3 the user could go to a screen and work on the car setup, i.e. change the downforce levels, gear ratios, etc. I cannot see that anywhere in GP4. Any tips on this?by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Hey Rene, All of my GP4s have been updated with the 9.6 official patch and the 1.02 decrypted patch prior to adding anything else. I have enjoyed using your GPxPatch, though, and as such just sent you a toten donation on your website. I only toy with the other utilities for two reasons: One, to attempt to get the tracks installed off the various GP4 websites that are available and must open wby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
I appreciate the feedback! I'll check those items this evening.by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
I run my GP4 on my simulator in the basement. I use a ten year old PC with XP and no internet. This is by design as I have many kids that come and go (the room also has a huge 1/32 slot car track) and I don't want to deal with the junk that accompanies PCs, kids, and the web. As such, I do all my downloading and most mod work pertaining to GP4 on my newer Win 8.1 laptop and transfer the fileby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Correction: That folder I downloaded is "2001_viper_carset". Thanksby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
I just want to install the tobacco liveries on the base 2001 cars with a file, "viper_carset2001" (I think that's the folder's name). Thanks for the reply.by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
I am attempting to use gp4master to load some custom liveries. The executable triggers an error message that I do not have a decrypted GP4.exe because it does not have 6250496 bytes. I have downloaded and installed the decrypted version of the GP4.exe prior to the GPxPatch 4.30 and the GP4.exe I have has 6275072 bytes. Any thoughts? Thanks sincerely, AustinF1 AKA The Colonelby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Curious? I have been to the LBGP several times over the years and cannot recall there being much elevation change in the circuit.by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
I installed the Singapore 2013 track (authors drt01, Jcaranti) on my system last night and it worked very well (huge improvement over the previous version from 2008 I believe) with one exception. My kid uses the rookie mode, i.e. steering and brake assist. When the user car leaves the pit lane, the system slows the car down to a near crawl at the end before entering the track(?). Looks pretty cool. Cannot wait for this track to be finished and released!by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
The layout on your pic looks good. How soon before release?by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
What is Buddh? I have downloaded about every track I could find on here and other sites but haven't come across that one. Link to download would be appreciated.by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Not sure who did the Long Beach 2014 track. The back stretch and side peripherals (ie. stands, overhead bridges, etc) were not finished when it was released and the main stands across from the pits are incorrect (the stands look like the real thing behind the pits and not the large stands across on Shoreline Drive) but otherwise the track drives great. If you guys could coop w/orig author and finby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Hello fellow GP4ers, I have added many of the new tracks to my GP4 which I am trying out. The problem is this. I use the GPxPatch.exe to input the .dat file of every new track in the system. Nearly all of those which have the .wad and .dat files already there when the downloads are unzipped work fine. All of those which must be opened and created in the ZAZ TOOLS TSM crash GP4 immediately uponby AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Hello all, I open this site in Google Chrome and the menus always default to French. Is there a way to change this to English? Sincerely, AustinF1by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
Have just setup my GP4 on my makeshift simulator after a few years of it collecting dust. Have also just downloaded and setup some of the tracks that have been made over the years since GP4 came out. I am 60 years of age and have a 26 year old and a 5 year old (Believe it or not) who also enjoy my GP4. We still run it on my 2005 bought HP XP SP2 box with an AMD Athelon 64/2 processor, 2 GIG Ram,by AustinF1 - Grand Prix 4
