Hi Max 1) about the error code, you miss a Windows component to make the program run. try this: Extract it inside YourPcUserFolder\Windows\System32\ and the problem should disappear. If you receive a similar error about other components let me know and i'll post them. 2) the race manager is statistics collector from your race results. it's composed of a bunch of tools to simulaby R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
then it looks more comprehensible to call it "air penetration factor" than "air resistance"by R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
good stuff, it looks like the effect is opposite than what i've been reading about it. what about the human player? do you feel better driveability at higher or lower values? unless the effect is quick vs driveability. i got so far that lower values should give better driveability, i guess by lower speed into corners. does anybody know what are these field_e2 and field_108? just to say something stoopid, the first parameter talks about subtracting something and comparing between the two cars. Trusting this description, supposing both values "added" and substracted" work together, couldn't be that the one "adding to cc grip factor" decides the amount of boost and the one "cby R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
probably the theory of the sign is correct, otherwise they would have expressed it directly in 768, 512... etc. using such multiple may mean this specific value is intended to add something or substract something. the description says added to car. Related to cc grip factor i found that the power/grip factor seem to work as percentages of the gp3edit bph and grip. so if they really mean to tweaby R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
in track editing it is normal that 0=65536 in most of the parameters. the common value for this entry seems -768 (64768-65536). but original imola has -512 (65024), silverstone and hockenheim have -640 (64896) and a1 ring and suzuka have 0 (if 0=65536)by R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
i have no idea too. can't exactly spot what makes it pop. i can't play most of belini tracks with far sight but despite i stressed the 2013 shanghai i was unable to make it ctd. i did an entire race on my beta shanghai with far sight but i got plenty of crashes with the original hungaroring and original nurburgring which are the lightest of the lot about details. still i race with noby R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
lol, i dont think the patch was able to screw the entire game. i made a test and the game recognizes correctly the drivers on track and the fuel lap in each session. i guess the laps for the other sessions are fixed by the game because in the gpxset there is no entry for how many laps are allowed other than in qualifying. i never used the panel of the laps so i cant tell is that 120 is a reasoby R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
i think belini mixed the view distance ahead/behind with the far sight values so if you remove those command you can try to reposition all the view distance commands (in couple with the Extend view infront/behind) and see if you can cover more space. the only critical part, at least on shanghai that we talked about is the towers on the main straight and the grand stand. they will disappear anycasby R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
ooh, i've seen it now, i had to activate the panel in the gpxinfo. it's very strange. the session length seems edited correclty. Though, it shows 1/23 laps for both free practises and 1/120 for warmup but the qualifying seems fine. it ignores all the others sessions but reads correctly the qualify laps from the gpxset. even more strange is that i installed a backup of gp3.exe whichby R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
i usually measure the tyre wear from the gpxpatch tab at the bottom of the screen, in example with a wear of 20000 each wheel consumes 0.10 while a wear of 10000 consumes 0.05 no idea of how to intend it, works only for the human car. would be great to compare with the wear of the AI cars at the same way. is there any meter to rely on other than testing the laptimes? -> I would like to rby R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3

the far sight became a problem when we switched from win98 to winxp and the new gen of video cards. i can't remember having a single crash before. their bug is even unpredictable.by R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
sorry but i still don't understand. in friday and saturday practises, qualifying and warmup the number of laps should be entered by the GpXSet. in example for my knockout i've set a qualifying of 127 minutes and set 6 laps each driver wich means 2 only attempts. when you can, can you post a screenshot so i see where it changed? tnx for the patienceby R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3

I never edited Gp2 so i miss all this part, but if gp3 is 'son' of gp2 the experience of gp2 modders would be very helpful to know how these parameters work. so if both games are coded at the same way the Tyre Wear in the md could be a balance "human wear vs AI wear" and not "human/AI wear vs track"? About the error chance it sounds reasonable the seed method iby R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
Good point this about gp3 2000, haven't considered such drastic difference. unfortunately the major problem we face is that we still don't know what some parameters do. we go by speculation. in example, the working of the ccshuffler, at least from me, is pure speculation because i actually don't now what it really adjusts. i just tweak and relate the effect. I found in the sameby R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
@ meanmc: yes, i based it on personal tests but i added also to test for best values because other players found better results with lower values. in my cases with lower values drivers set the fastest laps on lap2 with fuel load rather than before the pitstop. reducing the tyre wear didnt changed much and was quite annoying so i went for that conclusion which seemed at least more realistic. i was spending some time checking this data. i located the positions and checked the values. there are too many numbers to understand for a quick test but i seem to recognize the curve of wear and grip from full dry to full wet. I got this: the compound 55 has a wear curve from 48 to 24 dry to wet and a grip from 16160 to 8192 (previous positions 1249164 says 16384. not sure what indicates)by R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
the ccline is lost and the game may freeze only if you alter the track layout changing angles or lenght of any sector. it is still a good idea to leave it for last because you are free to work also on the track width and the kerb width, or in street tracks with the distance of the barriers.by R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
this seems to confirm my theory that it could be a far sight problem. both in turn 2 and the long straight next to the hairpin. these commands force to show parts of the track additional to the area already computed. so when you cross these commands you trigger the extra sections. the game has to elaborate them and if those areas are heavy detailed or crowded it's like putting a foot on a bby R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
don't know if anybody already did it, anyway as i needed it i've put together a small tool to quickly extend and checksum in one click the duration of the qualifying session without the use of an hex editor. so far it seems to work, let me know if it works for you too so i'll put it properly on site. i'm sorry Dirk, I've put just a couple of ideas, i seem to have read it happened watching the race from the external camera but seems to be happening from cockpit, so the external camera has nothing to do with it. you and meanmc say it happens always at the same place. do you confirm it happens only in race and not in practice/qualy? i opened the 2013 version and found turn 2 and the lby R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
in gp3 2k i guess you drive the full version? does it crashes from the cockpit view while racing? or at the start of the race? that could still be the Far Sight curseby R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
if the problem is really the camera you can try to work with some of the arguments and see if they really do something. i guess their combination does lens effect like wide angle etc. i never knew what most of those values really do so i kept universlly the same values in all my tracks supposing they do something by themselves. can't exclude the high details of the track overloads the game eby R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
a problem with external camera could be the depth of the visual. the farer you see the more the game engine has to elaborate data. is there a specific place in the track where it happens? a specific moment or is all pure random?by R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3

hi, which version of the program you mean, 6.xx or 7.0? flags are enabled by compiling the list of entrant teams so it should be possible to skip the campaign. in version 6.xx you can add them manually from the flag editor anytimeby R_Scandura - Grand Prix 3
