Looks very nice. Can you upload it here or extend the 10 d/l limit on rapidshare, please?by Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
What's with the winglets over the front wing? Aren't they banned? Oh, surprise, surprise, its red.by Brianf666 - F1
A merry Christmas to all GP3'ers, from Ireland. Brianby Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
The idea is a tempting one, especially with their rally experience and Loeb available soon. Brawn, Button and Loeb is such a mouth-watering prospect.by Brianf666 - F1
Yeah, I always look at air resistance as really being air efficiency as the higher the setting the quicker the cars slip through the air. There's this note 'subtracted from diff between field_e2 of 2 cars and then compared to speed of first car' which seems to do something related to how close one car is following another. Probably its just the 'tow' effect but somethingby Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
I've been strangely energetic today with setting up some files for my guesses at the '09 characteristics of the cars. I'm experimenting with increasing tyre grip and decreasing driver ability to make the cars less stable in high speed turns and more stable in the tight ones. I've also shifted the balance a few notches toward the rear as this seems the best way to represent theby Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
Looks nice on the BMW and the Toyota. I expect most teams to use a lower nose and all to use a much smaller engine cover. Here's hoping. Now I suppose I'll have to get to work on power, grip, tyres and whatever. IS there some way to remove Honda and SA (ok I'm out of date a bit)by Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
As I read it, teams can use the Cosworth 1.8 turbo V8. They can build their own to the Cosworth spec., or they can keep with their 2.4 V8 with performance regulators. These options look more in line with manufacturers thinking whilst still penalising them for being in F1 as a publicity excercise. This will happen in 2010 if no better solution can be found and agreed by all parties. It is also proby Brianf666 - F1
How about a season-ending 'special' race. Keep a points system but start the cars in reverse order to their points tally for the season. Then remove the last car every two or three laps. You'd still have a proper championship but also a great spectale of a finale with a gold medal type result. It would be fun and great for TV audiences. Everyone happy and so what if a few old carsby Brianf666 - F1
I made my own. I ended up with a car that was okay for speed, great for grip amd hard to keep on the black stuff in fast turns. I'm a Williams fan, though.by Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
All I saw was a guy in a car far faster than the Ferrari struggling lap after lap when anyone who knew how to pass would have done so first straight from slipstream. Pedro is great at blocking as some of us remember when he was driving some dog of a car and DC was held up most of the race.by Brianf666 - F1
I got GP3-2k and GP4 for five quid each on ebay. Your black screen sounds like it is a graphics driver/setup thing. To get the best out of my last 3 ATI cards I've had to set 3D stuff to minimal functions. All the stuff in there for 3D games tends to mess up GP3. I think there are also issues with the newer Nvidia cards too but not used them since Gforce 4. Brianby Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
You'd have to re-set GPxPatch (not a huge bother) and GP3Edit (just load up the required set and pop it into the game. Anything else, you can pre-set as GPxPatch loadable files. I'd naturally play with the physics file. Depending on the realism you want, you might set up all the circuits for a specific year, too. So most of the work is in the preparation. When it comes to saving, wellby Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
Have you ensured that a valid Magic Data file is inserted into every track? I found that saving tracks with Paul Hoad's Track Editor removes the MD data from the .dat file during a save, and must be replaced each time. Its unilkely to be a bump-table issue unless you have made dramatic changes to that. The other possibility is that you have inadvertently put the .md from Spa or another longby Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
To expand on this a bit. The 1.13 upgrade is the decrypted version (get the no CD one) and it allows other utilities to insert data, either permanently or at run time. GPxPatch is the tool that puts custom data in the game at run time, so you start GP3 from there and it does all the inserting for you. It does a bit more than that but its pretty clear when you use it. There are some issues to conby Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
All well and good if its just on the one track. (must remember to d/l the fix thanks Drafi) I have had this on every track unless I reduced processor loading to a minimum. The main culprit was leaving Kaspersky anti-virus running but I switched to Avast! a week ago and I can leave that on. The other problem I have like this is using an ATI on-board chip instead of a dedicated card and memory. Thaby Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
I have to exit my anti-virus, home network, ATI tools etc., to get a decent game going. I guess any memory resident stuff will drain from GP3's requirements. 1.13 decrypted is fussy with XP and needs to be set to win98 emulation more often than not.by Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
Its an odd thing. Patrick Head said way back last year that TC could be simulated by playing with engine mappings. Now Macca have done just that in a very clever way that the other teams may not have realised the standard (Maclaren) ECU was capable of. Or have they modified the ECU?by Brianf666 - F1
Trying to work out what you mean. I'm guessing you want to run circuits after 1998 which is the GP3 default season. Best way is to make sure you have the decrypted .exe file for version 1.13 then install GPxPatch following the instructions closely. Then you can download and install the various tracks (follow the instructions included with each one). Some may need you to tinker with them byby Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
Let me be Devil's advocate here. Donnington has not even applied for planning permission and that will not be done in a matter of months. It is almost certain to fail without crippling changes and the cost will rise beyond what is viable. Then the only option for Bernie is to go cap-in-hand to Damon and beg for Silverstone to take the Grand Prix back on much better terms. Now, if I were Dby Brianf666 - F1
Check your email. Sakir was originally made for GP3-2000 so the reduced version needs MD for version 1.13by Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
I have juggled with car balance quite a bit to emulate the Williams instability last year. Then I had best laps on 3, 4 or later. When I tweaked the MD tyre wear I got it about right with fastest being on low fuel and worn tyres. The difference was around 1/2 sec a lap compared with lap 3. This year the Williams is much better balanced but I'm struggling to get tyre wear back to something reby Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
Finally! Since I last posted on this thread I have experimented with all sorts of settings. I got an acceptable game going at low resolution with limited graphic detail and every other windows program exited. To say the least I was not impressed and seriously considered setting up my old PC just for GP3 and my daughter's games. Then, last night I came across, in the game's graphics seby Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
Would that be Williams F1 or the new KERS company they bought? Also is it on the electronic KERS or the flywheel technology? And is any other team developing two systems?by Brianf666 - F1
Um no, I use APE to create a file and link to it with GPxPatch for GP3 1.13. I know its picking up okay as I made a mistake once and got floating cars.by Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
Yeah, you learn something new on here every day.by Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
Claudio, I'm so glad you have problems too. I thought it was just me. On some F1 tracks all the cars seem to slow by about 2 sec a lap after 3 or 4 laps. I put it down to tyre wear but at Sepang it is most pronounced and I've still to get better consistency there or it makes a 7 stop race a viable proposition )by Brianf666 - Grand Prix 3
