my problem was entirely mechanically. a belt inside the steering wheel was trapped due to weariness. cleaned some tiny wheels inside and glued the belt. no problems anymore thus it isn't related to software thus i can't really help you. although at first my game crashed too... re-installing it helped me out (but i don't know your consistency of failure)by FF - Grand Prix 3
can anybody explain that FF patch? is it related to logitech steering wheels or just for all steering wheels? i have a thrustmaster ff steering wheel (just fixed it after a belt was f***ed up)by FF - Grand Prix 3
yes!!!! good news for us, jarno supporters! hopefully a damn good result at the race too this time!by FF - F1
the nordschleife is indeed incredible. i'll let the experts sum up the number of turns and altitude changes for you... (mainly because i have no idea how many turns there are, i guess over one hundred)by FF - F1
who is actually interested in monaco? i never race there with gp3 : what a bore...by FF - Grand Prix 3
anything you've worked on will please me. thou has my support... (please include boutsen as jordan's second driver)by FF - Grand Prix 3
this really sounds stupid, i know. but i'm trying to change the names of pizzonia and wilson, but it just doesn't work. i load the driver names (import) from the game, change them and export the driver names (export) to the game. but how hard i even try : it doesn't change the in game names! on the driver select screen everything is fine : pics and names are both right. but ingaby FF - Grand Prix 3
hmm, silverstone is unmentioned. i'm doing practice now, mainly for setup purposes (still my first 'real' season) nice track, maggots and becketts is hard! anybody else's thoughts on silverstone?by FF - Grand Prix 3
hmm, i am midway my first season with more than 50% race distance (so my first 'real' season) good at : albert park, imola, austria, canada struggle at : sepang, nurburgring, magny-cours medium at : brazil, spain damn : magny-cours is very hard. totally against my racing principles : i must temper myself (i am a bit a brute driver) but i find my racing techniques improving big time wby FF - Grand Prix 3
"it is interesting to look at the liveries of the red ferrari and the red williams. the ferrari looks nice and neat and clean. the williams really looks if they've loaded a lot of names and logos into a cannon and fired it at the car."by FF - F1
diff settings are between the axles of the weels, but torque is measured on the axis coming directly out of the engine with normal car: engine - clutch - gears - drive shaft - axles (each wheel one with diffs) so the torque of an engine is measured even before the clutch. this is logical because (like in rallying) the clutch, drive shaft or axles can be damaged. so measuring the torque at theby FF - F1
@ scottyj : you drive with a wheel to. me too. can you power out of sharp turns faster than the ai cars or is it just my setup? that's my main overtaking style : come close in the braking zone and powering fast away at slow turns. at fast turns however i tend to be a bit (sometimes massive) slower... just to know if it's me or just the wheel...by FF - Grand Prix 3
let's compare a tractor and a race car : a tractor needs loads of torque for getting the vehicle in motion on soft surfaces on its hunk of wheels, but doesn't need a high top speed at all(well, we've all have been stuck once behind one on a narrow road) a race car is the opposite : it doesn't need much torque since it wants high top speed for every gear, so torque is only neby FF - F1
hmm, it depends on the controls... with a wheel it's a huge difference than with keyboard. totally other setups are needed. i'm figuring out setups myself lately. i'm working out a season and need setups for all the tracks. most important things are : wings, anti-rollbars (maybe brake balance but it doesn't effect me much) the gear ratios depend on your wings and the circuby FF - Grand Prix 3
dolinseks was right : hard braking and gradually release pressure. won today brasil : at the end of the race again a couple of cars were queuing up behind me. damn, i allways drive insanely defensive: lucky me that ai cars don't get mad after such races...by FF - Grand Prix 3
dunno. gp3 can do weird stuff sometimes. it sometimes crashes with me, but not that much. if it crashes every time, then there must be a problem. do you have a dialog box opening (one that says "direct draw not installed" ?by FF - Grand Prix 3
i agree that ron dennis can whine too. (i am no mclaren fan either) but ferrari is greedy! one of the seven deadly sins, remember?by FF - F1
damn, sounds hard. i'll practise then! does that mean i have to brake earlier?by FF - Grand Prix 3
i heard that ferrari tried till the evening having jarno trulli disqualified. a guy from williams said that. they failed. they tried to score a point more for ms. my reaction : very f***ing weak from the scuderia. trulli drove a defensive line without 'dirty driving'. first hitting out at montoya at the nurburgring and now this if they continue, none of the paddock will like them evby FF - F1
is it because i brake in a straight line, but i tend to turn in during the last moments of my braking. do i have to reprogram myself to do : brake on straight line stop braking turn in and stop doing : brake on straight line turn in for corner stop braking half a second laterby FF - Grand Prix 3
how do you brake properly? i'm using a wheel, but if i brake earlier to save my tyres (earlier means : not on the limit like in qualifying, smoke there is good) the tyres still smoke. at the end of a thirty lap race there are neat dark lines on the tarmac. and that's all off my car! i even have can see my own lines i drive through certain corners... if i want to drive more than thirtyby FF - Grand Prix 3
it's a good game, and like true good games, it lasts forever. well, in ten years it will be outdated but hell... a bit like my nes games i really like. i'm doing a season too, so that's cool stuffby FF - Grand Prix 3
i've seen a faq somewhere including F9 as a driver aid. are they referring to gp3 or is that gp4? bonus question: how can you make a good start in gp3? when i'm in front (first row) i'm allways sure to get overtaken at the first corner. when i'm in the middle (interprete widely), i'm allways overtaking at least two cars at the first corners, because they really slow doby FF - Grand Prix 3

gp3 can be weird. a year ago it switched itself off after 30 minutes playing it. re-installing it helped, it is boring i know : every download again. tweaking your preferences again... sometimes it happens (especially during replays) but luckily not too much thus : re-installing windows to another version. or : buying gp4by FF - Grand Prix 3
thanks. it is kinda shitty to take those two corners relaxed : turn into the apex, don't throttle away (a bit of throttle of coarse) and wait for the car to go over the spot with elevation change. yeah : indeed, interlagos has a shitty corner like that too. horrible it is like so against the nature of racing : normally : turn in , hit apex, power away (the lovely stuff) shitty turns : weeby FF - Grand Prix 3
