GT4 Screenshots are taken in photomode, which doesn't even use the same models and textures.

Photomode is a render with added photoshop style effects. To compare those "screenshots" to any other game is unfair.

But doesn't Forza 2's photomode do the same? It's a fair comparison as they both have a mode in which you can take 'photos', although of course GT4's in-game graphics are nowhere near as good.

Also, as far as I know the cars in GT4 only use the 'high quality' model in the static photomode and I've never noticed any difference between textures.

Not to the extent GT series does, but similar yeah.

The GT Series completely changes everything you see in photomode. It doesn't use the normal models and textures, it uses an extremely high poly model and extremely high res textures, something which you can't use normally. Then it renders it with more advanced lighting and shading than the game displays in play mode, and tops it off with using photoshop style effects.

A "Screenshot" from the GT Series photomod is the equivelent of a 3D Studio Max render, with photoshop effects added.

I'm still not sure about the high-res textures and high-poly models though. I can't tell the difference, only that in static photo-mode the cars have 3D wheels. Either way, back to the point in hand; it is definately true that you cannot call GT4's photo-mode pictures a 'screenshot'. I bet GT5 will look very nice though. :)

:o wow! As I was scrolling down, I saw the second one in your last post Karan without the HUD at the bottom, and I thought it was a photograph! The way the lighting and shading works on that is just incredible. I too, demand your specs! lol
