If Hudson didn't have so crappy night skies I'd have used them :(

I dont think Hudson ever made any night skies. The night sky there is the one included with the Le Mans track.

I had Hudson skies a long time ago and those were his night skies, very bright and never got pitch black :\

They are not Hudson skies at night mate.

They are skies from the Lemans track only ;)

Gui you are such a tool. What do you know about that?

Le Mans is mid June, this year the 16th and the 17th. It is as close to the Summer solstice as you can get.

[en.wikipedia.org]

New York city has a latitude of N40.7, and for the 17th of June 2007 had the following light patterns.

Begin civil twilight 4:51 a.m.
Sunrise 5:24 a.m.
Sun transit 12:57 p.m.
Sunset 8:29 p.m.
End civil twilight 9:03 p.m.

Le Mans has a latitude of N48, making it comparable to NYC.

Also, try and look at this page:

Secondly, I don't believe that anyone has mentioned the time of day that screenshot was taken.

gui what are you talking about? Have you ever actually been up at about 4 am. At the moment at least (summerish) it starts to get light around that time and goes dark bluey. But no, of course, I must have been imagining it *rolls eyes*

I don't go to bed before 5 am. That sky is of a full night texture but has a weird blue glaze over it. It's like there's a giant full moon going on. There's some slight lighting around 5am in the summer, and it comes from the horizon obviously, doing a gentle gradient in the sky. 4am is still well dark. True that no one mentioned the time but unless configured differently I do believe rF sees no difference from 12am until 5:59am, that is why I judged it to be the am hours sky from Hudson, since Karan does have Hudson skies in his rFactor, so not too much of a stretch of imagination to come to that conclusion, eh? I don't enjoy being bullied, Dan.

That doesn't say anything. If you'd went to bed on the north pole, depending on season, it would be daylight 24/7 or it would be dark 24/7... You cannot conclude from where you are, how it will be somewhere else. That is why I posted the damn charts, and daylight info with the latitude coordinates in the previous post.

Check for Chicago, please, and it's lack of any hills or mountains whatsoever

bullied? :S strange concept of bullying you have there but sorry if you feel that way. I admit it is a bit bright for such time - infact it's quite strange, like it's dark and then goes light higher up and then dark again, but you seemed to be saying originally that it should be really really dark at 4am in real life, which it is not.

Do it yourself Gui. In the meantime, why don't you compare this nightsky photo from Belgium with the Le Mans shot you call unreal. And still NO ONE has said that shot was supposed to depict 4 AM.
