What's the difference between the two different box versions? Nothing?

Hmm might be slightly worth getting however I doubt they will go for cheap. I'd much prefer a clutch pedal anyway.

By the looks of it, the defaults only come designed for the Act-Labs wheels, and you need to purchase an extra part to make them compatable with other wheels.

//Edit: I think you'll need this too: [www.act-labs.com] to work with any non-act-labs wheels. $14.99, plus import costs.

None of those come with the adapter box you need. Its a tiny little box and Act Labs charge about £30 postage on it and it still takes weeks to arrive in the UK

If you bid on this remember you still have to pay Ass Labs that huge postage cost (they are making a truck load of cash of those costs) and wait weeks for this tiny little item to arrive.

Edit: That link gav posted is the adpater thing you'll need. But beware of Ass Labs milking the postage from you and those dodgy shifter springs which will need replaced eventually. (theres a site somewhere that describes how to use VHS springs which apparently work brilliantly!)

All looks like a big rip off then. Would be good if some people made clutch and gear stuff with a reasonable price, but meh.

Can any of the gear knobs available from ACT Labs be used on the USB shifter?

I presume that they're for real cars only, but I find the shifter has too much leverage and I want a stubbier (?!) gear stick to better represent an F1 car, cos I'm sure they didn't have that much space to accomodate a stick!
