The legal stuff says you can only download them if you own the original game. And you did once have the original games.

Since their market value nowadays is negligible, they may as well be free anyway.

Or maybe I'm just justifying myself having one too?? ;)

P.S. Get 'Legend of Zelda : A Link To The Past' if you have any interest in Fantasy RPGs.

Zelda - A Link To The Past is one of these games I can play over and over again, without ever getting tired of it. Sometimes I even finish the game on one evening in one go, without dying once, finding all secrets and hearts. IMHO no other fantasy game comes close to that. my SNES games Top 6 is:

1. Zelda - A Link To The Past
2. Shadowrun
3. Super Mario World (I can play that game blindfolded while sleeping)
4. Secret Of Mana
5. Secret Of Evermore
6. Robowars

I wish there were more games like Shadowrun. The story is so good and the music is simply great. There should be a modern version of it. Given the current Gothic boom I bet it would be a hit.

zelda is like the only game I've ever played where I truly am just inspired by the music, the gameplay, graphics...etc!

I must admit being a relative young'un I only got into it with Ocarina of Time, but rest assured I did *cough* acquire an emulator a while back to play a Link to the Past, and yes, I agree, simply marvellous :)

Ocarina of Time is a masterpiece, one of the most emotion-filled games I've ever played, it was just a gorgeous game. Same goes for the Cube's Wind Waker, which again is just an awe-inspiring creation.

Finding long lost square rpgs was one of my old hobbies. After I collected most of them for my SNES, I downloaded all the ROMS available so I wouldn't have to play with the SNES.

1. Final fantasy 6
2. Zelda - Link To The Past
3. Chrono Trigger
4. Final Fantasy 4

Wow, spot the RPG nut in the forum lol...

Vader, what's Shadowrun like? It's the only one of your Top 6 I haven't heard of, and if it's in the same style as the others up there then I reckon I'd like it.

Let's say you legally bought the ganes you downloaded so you don't need to plug in your SNES console everytime you want to play, okay? ;)

It's not really like the other games. It's futuristic cyber-space adventure/RPG. It is loosely based the pen and paper RPG of the same name. I simply like its dark and foreboding atmosphere.

This review describes the game better then I could probably do:
