Better be better than the last one, which was utter, utter crap.

They will never make a good game until they change the camera and on-foot/shooting controls. The car control was spot on though.

What's wrong with the camera?
I actually loved the forth game, the only week part where many of the radio stations.

They need to make combat first person.

The 3rd person perspective means you can't see around corners and obstacles properly to see what the hell's going on. The whole targeting system is clunky and dated.

The mission "four leafed clover" or whatever was impossible because of this.

do you play pc or console?
I actually like the changes to the controls they did and hiding and looking around corners was nice on the pc.

Console. Which may have exacerbated the problem

I have to agree, I think as far as controls go, GTA4 was the best yet

And that mission you mention when you rob the bank is awesome, possibly the most fun in the game

I agree with the above. I know what you mean about the occasional awkwardness of the viewpoint with obstacles but I thought the camera control (right stick) was responsive enough for it not to be a problem. If the PC version is properly optimised I can see me ploughing more time into it than I even did with GTA IV (one of my favourite games ever).
