I downloaded rFactor before it was officially released from sim-racer.de, the file is exactly 401,090,294 bytes. Is it exactly the same version as the one that has been officially released. It will save me downloading it again from ISI (or any other of the 'official' mirrors), since I'm on a slow connection and the file is very big.

Only if you buy through Paypal, because then they e-mail you an unlock code. If you buy it in game, it unlocks the game for that PC - so the code won't work on another PC.

And that's assuming that when you put the code in, it doesn't need to check a server - which it might. Might be best to e-mail ISI on that one then.

It probably has to communicate with the server, otherwise the copy protection system is useless.
