Hi, I bought gpl from my local "one step beyond" game store ages ago and installed it, played it then after a while uninstalled it. I just now decided to instal gpl again, but when i click where i want to install gpl to on my drive, it says, "this is not a valid CD, please contact your vendor for further information." Well, it is a valid cd, i haent downloaded it or anything like that, it is genuine (with box, manual etc) so do you have any ideas on how to install it? thanks for any help, mikey

Yeah its a bug. Here is the workaround:

It's only after we've lost everything, that we are free to do anything.

But when it loads, it goes straight into the create driver screen thing, its incredibly slow (got no other programs running). Are you meant to be able to do alt+tab btw, i try and everytime i try it crashes and i cant do ctrl+alt+delete and i have to restart the whole computer. any ideas? i got the patch and everything

Have you got a Pentium or something? I tihnk gpl might not like hyperthreading and that makes it slow? I really don't know.

Who said anything about GP4? :)

Have you tried going past the driver creation screen?

If that Athlon is an Athlon64, then disable Cool 'n' Quiet in the BIOS.

It effects all Papyrus sims, and makes them run at either half or double speed most of the time.

Somebody's been Guowned :)

By far the easiest way to install GPL is to get the 2004 demo and copy the tracks from your gpl install across (then update 'em separately).

If you've got it enabled it's either not working (sometimes doesn't) or the Windows util that some mobos have has it disabled.

You'd know if it was enabled.

yeah. I type in my name, team etc and click that little green flag thing, and it says unable to save driver data or something similar. so i can't go back, or forward, or ctrl+alt+del or alt+tab lol. i did a virus check incase it was a virus, but no.

I'd uninstall, reinstall, apply all the patches, and then make sure the entire folder isn't setting itself to read-only for some reason.

no, but what the instructions said were to manually just copy eerything off of the cd and paste it, and the make sure the whole folder is not set to read only.
