Out of those four I'd personally go for Les Mis every time. However, not knowing your girlfriend I'd have no idea which she'd appreciate most.

"to the theatre".

take her to either Les Mis or Phantom of the Opera. Depending on her personality. If she's slightly more intelligent than she'll appreciate Les Mis and its French Revolutionary undertones more. However, the music for the Phantom is breathtaking and great for the more casual theatre-goer. Forget the lion king or we will rock you unless she;s a really really big fan of queen or the lion king film

personally i'd recommend Les Mis. Mature and romantic and yet ooozes history like the seeping paw of 1815 versailles

IT is awesome music - probably the best that Lloyd-Webber has written (although that's not saying much). However, the plot and drama are miles behind that of Les Mis. Which is a shame, because the book is powerful and beautifully written - it just lost something being transferred to stage.

There's more culture in this thread than the rest of the forum combined! Hope for humanity!

I'd prefer Les Mis, but Phantom Of The Opera is always good.

so if you had a choice between the two?

i'm leaning towards phantom as i'll think she'll enjoy the music more, but its not for another two weeks, so i can still change it to les mis later on if needed

I think you and only you are the one to judge.
How can we know what kind of taste your girlfriend has?

It's a bit like asking whether to buy her a pink or red dress.

I haven't seen Phantom (although its on the list of ones to see!) but Le Mis is fantastic!

We Will Rock You is ok-ish - not for theatre purists though. You really have to like the music for that one, cos the plot is non existent.

a horribly disfigured, ugly face, hanging around in a theatre frightening the show-goers.

that's enough about Andrew Lloyd Webber, go and see The Phantom!
