I like the Charger. The headlights look really mean, and although the grill it a bit wonky, it looks aggressive.

At least it doesn't look cross eyes like the Ford :s

EDIT: after seeing the hires pic, it does look a bit odd. Still better than the Ford though :)

As a matter of interest, are the insides of the cars pretty much standard, or do the different cars offer advantages/disadvantages other than aerodynamics.

They all have different engines, suspension etc. Suspension and saftey devices are normally supplied by the makers of the cars (chevy, dodge etc). Engines are another matter. All cars are supplied with the basic engine afaik, but some teams do extensive work on them. Hendrick Motorsports (#5 Kyle Busch, #24 Jeff Gordon, #48 Jimmy Johnson, #25 Brian Vickers, #44 Terry Labonte) build there own engines (im assuming from the stock Chevy base, but i duno). A few other cars on the grid use Hendrick engines too (#01 car runs a Hendrick engine for example).

Roush do engine work on there Fords, altho not all of there cars get the same spec engines. One of Roushs old cars (an ex #16, Greg Biffle car) was bought and run by a private entry.

DEI do alot of engine and aero work.

Evernham Motorsports do engine work (having Ddoge as the primary sponsor means they get first choice on new engines too i think).

Really they are all very different, but produce the same results. Even different teams with the same chassis have very different cars. DEI Chevy shape is different to the shape of Hendrick Motorsports chevys. The engines are totally different too. If you watch regularly you beging to see patterns in who goes well where. DEI are always strong on Restrictor Plate races, Hendrick seem to have the 1.5M ovals mastered.

Jr. and Waltrip have slipped futher down the time sheets, wonder if DEI have lost there advantage on the restrictor plate tracks? This is only testing though so probably not.

mabey they have, or they just dont want to show off what they have. who knows.

the way i understand how the cars are built, is there given rules that they have to follow in construction and every team makes there own cars from scratch. in one of the broadcasts on TV the commentators mentiond that there was only 1 part on the cars that were mass produced for each car, and it was only something little, i just cant remember what it was :|. each team has heaps of cars to, they buil cars for certin tracks, short tracks speedways, superspeedways etc, and they have 2 or so to choose from for each driver for each type of track. im going on the big teams here. id say the little teams wouldnt have as many.

Restrictor plates are supplied by NASCAR arent they?

I remember ther ewas one driver planning to enter Bristol but wrecked his Short Track car at Rockingham (i think?) and his only other car was a SuperSpeedway car.

I wouldnt say they have heaps of cars. I think Johnson had something 3 Speedway cars to choose from? They took the Atlanta car to Homested because it was so good or something. And Jr wanted his Daytona 500 car for the other SS races but couldnt because its in the Tona museum

'Dash' Series is done: the IPOWER Dash Series, the successor to NASCAR's now defunct Goody's Dash Series, has canceled its 2005 season that was to open on Sunday, Feb. 13 at Daytona. Front-row qualifying for the Feb. 20 Daytona 500 will continue as planned on Feb. 13. The Dash Series cited issues regarding sponsorship and corporate involvement as the reasons for the series being scrubbed. The series debuted at Daytona in February of 2004 with a less than auspicious beginning when a track worker was struck and killed by a race car while picking up debris under a caution period
