Problem with computer

My cousin bought a computer from my mum. The compute woked fine for 4 years without any problems. My cousin have computer 2 monts. In this time there are 2 moterbords completly useless. When he try to turn computer on is the monitor totaly black, it can not be turn off. Is the problem in electricity?

128mb ram
last moterboard Qdi Legend
Creative SB Pci128
48x Philips CD-rom
20GB disk
Ati 16MB grafic card

Check all connections to the monitor and connections inside the computer

Possibly new graphics drivers that did that, cos after i put new ATI ones in for my old ATI card the monitor went totally blank and the HD need reformetted in a different computer

You did not understand. The moterboard is totaly usless. My cousin played
NFS3 when the picture stop, after 10min the monitor was totaly black. When I tryed to computer turn off it did not do anything. When my father than got out of computer grafic card and SB card, it did not do anything.

No. It wasn`t overheated. The 1st moterboard worked OK more than 4 years. Then my cousin got the computer (my cousin is 6 years old) and in 2 monts 2 moterboards ware totaly useless. (yes 2 moterboards)

floppy drives, do you mean CD?

If you mean CD. He played Colin Mcrea rally 1.0, NFS3, CD with more than 100 games(very old and home made) History program.

Ati drivers, QDI drivers, win98, SB drivers

Floppy drive - u know the 3 1/2 inch floppy discs?

Things that only hold 1.44Mb and use for booting and stuff sometimes , useless now
