Amiga A1200

I just found an amiga 1200 at work (I work in the maintenance dept of a school, just until I go to uni) which they were going to chuck away....so I took it. It looks to be in perfect working order, minus a power plug, but I can easily fit one.
Only problem is, I don't know what it runs. Can I play my old amiga 500 games on it? (F1GP!!) This version even has an 80mb hard drive fitted as an extra by Seagate, which I was impressed with.

Does anyone know anything about it? Google appears to be down at the moment, otherwise I'd search for info

yep, all amiga games are compatible with the 1200, i had both back in the good old days.

i remember when this all used to be fields.................................................

How is the 1200? Is it much faster than the 500?

I just re-wired the plug / put one on and it all works....but sadly the monitor, games and joystick are all in my loft. I'll fetch them down later and give Stunt car racer or New Zealand story a go.
