Considering that Jesus probably wasn't even born in December... and December was a time for so called Pagans to party extravagantly.... the religious meaning of Christmas gatecrashed a pagan festival anyway :P

I just saw a doco on the three wise men, apparently they were astrologers/astronomers, and the event they saw may have been a supernova, around 6BC. King Herod was alive when Jesus was born, however it is a known fact that Herod died in 4BC.
The current calendar was set up by Dionysus, and he forgot the year 0 and his calculations were also 4 years out, therefore Jesus was probably born in 5BC, that is if he actually existed, as there are no written records on him other than the bible.

As a person he probably existed and lived. It's all the rest I have trouble with, I can't bring myself to make that leap of faith because much of it seems insanely ridiculous to me.

And it seems clear that there was a lot of propaganda and spin around beginning of Christianity, as there probably is with any religion.
