ITV F1/Sony Advert Thingys :)

I was getting rather fed up of the Sony adverts before and after every advert break on ITV, so was relieved to see they had updated them when I started to watch Monaco qualifying :)

But the reason I post is to ask if anyone knows what song is being used on them now?

Rocket by Def Leppard. I was on the internet trying to find that too.

Last one was Can I Play With Madness by Iron Maiden

i'm glad i record the F1 coverage, so can skip past them every time they're on. it's ok on once or twice, but every few minutes hearing the same song really does my head in.

job's going well, but obviously takes up all my daytime now. before, i would sit at my computer all day so would be on the forum a lot more. but now i check my emails at work and mostly don't even bother switching on my computer at home, just want to chill out, eat and go to bed lol. so enjoy your school/college/uni days while you can!

Does anyone else think it's ironic that the adverts are for High Def technologies when the F1 is just about in widescreen, with no hint of it ever being in high-def?
Sony = "Buy a massive new high tech TV, if anything it'll make this program look worse once standard def is stretched across a massive screen" - clever advertising there.

I also can't see the point of Sony sponsoring it and promoting it. I'd much prefer ITV found a related sponsor like they've had in the past, like Shell, Toyota or Honda.

No point in having a Honda because it just made them become very slow

I'd be surprised if the BBC don't offer the F1 in HD to be honest. It's filmed in HD, and thats the sort of thing that would have made Bernie move to the BBC.

So far as we know, it's not.

I'd be surprised if they don't start to roll it out this year in preparation for a full-adoption next year though.

From the Wiki - [en.wikipedia.org]

"Bernie Ecclestone has announced that F1 will adopt the HD format near the end of the 2007 season. However, details of the races to be covered and the means of showing the content have yet to be announced."

Yeah, but as it's not broadcast anywhere in HD (other than upscaled SD on some HD channels), then I doubt that's the case. So far as I'm aware, there's been no announcement of true HD races or footage in any country yet.

//edit: done some digging, and it seems that some races are filmed in HD, at least in part, but it's not broadcast in HD anywhere other than that cinema thing that some countries offer, and even then it's down to the GP itself.

Some cinemas in the UK do that. I can't imagine anything more horrifying than hearing James Allen's voice filling a cinema :-o

How about Hamilton and Button and Coulthard crashing at the same time? ;)

Ben Edwards did the Monaco commentary with Karun Chandock.
