Don't know how good the mobile version is, but the standard 7600 is going to struggle to run all the latest games at the laptops full res I'd imagine. It's a nice all-round spec for basic gaming though.

It's what replaced the 6600GT I'd imagine, which is a budget gaming card. Things such as the 6800 should beat it handsomely, game dependant.

The laptop version is a lower powered varient of that, and certainly won't be any faster. It'll run games from a couple of year ago no problem at all at full res, I guess, but I seriously doubt it's going to be able to pull 1280x800 out of the bag constantly at high detail levels in the latest games.

I'd say it was a very good spec laptop, but that it will start to show its age very quickly in games.

Yes... obviously it's good...

But for gaming, it's not particularly (it's no GeForce MX though!)

(on the graphics chip, not this specific laptop)

Gaming is also an option thanks to Nvidia's GeForce Go 7600, the mobile version of the impressive 7600 desktop series. You won't be able to use the full resolution of the screen on the latest titles, but we played Far Cry with HDR enabled at 1,280 x 1,024, achieving 23fps. Using our low settings at 1,024 x 768, it scored 36fps in Far Cry and 39fps in Call of Duty 2.

"Adequate" probably covers it, but like I say, it's not going to last long for the new games.

There are great thinkpads but I know they are more expensive than other notebooks.
