Sávio only isn't in the team because of stupidity and stubborness by coaches, and unfortunately his injuries. The only time he was given a chance again was in 2000 against Uruguay, and he was always left isolated from anyone else in the team, having no one to play with. (I was in the Maracanã that day and we only managed to tie with a penalty kick in the final 5 minutes)

but he is too old for a foward....about 30 right?
as i said pick one of the international fowards or sau paulo/santos one to go alongside Nilmar. Or even FRED! from Lyon....didnt he score 35+ goals for Cruziero last season?

btw how is Fernando Genro and Lucas doing for Gremio?

Grêmio guys I don't know, just this year they got back to D1. If it's the Lucas who was playing in France then I hope he goes back there because all he could was run sideways and hit the adboards near the goal .
Sávio is 32, but that means nothing :p. Matthäus was a commanding presence up to a good age, and Maldini too.

Fred could be a good guy, but I think Nilmar plays in a better way to complement Adriano and Ronaldinho, Fred isn't the running type.

By the way, quick trivia. Fred was once offered to Flamengo before he went to Cruzeiro, but a director said "coming from América MG, to be bad he'd have to improve a lot" without ever watching him play. That way Fred went on to help Cruzeiro and left, while Flamengo constantly lost its good players and passed on the chance to many others. Most famous case being us not wanting to pay for Ronaldo's bus fare to practice....

And Sávio will hopefully announce he'll play for Flamengo after the Spanish season is over :D
