2. What are other ways to cool your computer besides the fan? I have heard people talk about water??huh what does that mean and how would you hook that up??

1. increasing the fsb of the processor in order to get more Mhz and a faster processor. usually done through the bios. the downside is that it gets hotter so if youre going to overclock make sure you have some good cooling solution!

2. nitrogen oxide lol.

1. Running a PC (usually the processor, memory and graphics card) faster than it was intended to be run at. Extra speed for free if you know how.

2. You use pipes, a pump and instead of the heatsink and fan, there's a block which has the water running through it. A radiator cools the water elsewhere in the PC (does the opposite to the radiators you'll probably have in your home).

Unless you're quite knowledgable on the subject, I'd seriously recommend you stick to air cooling, but probably getting something a bit more... substantial... something like this [www.overclock.co.uk]

Huge (only accepts 12cm fans), bit massively effective if it fits - I know, my CPU temp is currently 31.5c :D

Of course it is... you get what you pay for.

And a decent water-cooling kit will set you back around £150 minimum I guess.

Temperature can normally be found in the BIOS.

download this free utility called speedfan. you can only know your temps if your mobo supports that afaik.

I use a household fan to cool my pc, just removed the cover and put the fan to blow in to the box, works great!

I just place waterbombs inside the computer. When it gets too hot the rubber melts and the water cools everything down. Its a permanent fix.

Sounds rather unsafe to me, you never know what the rubber could do to a PC> I'd rather use the tray of icecubes instead.

my dad sells these mini air conditioning units as temporary solutions when he installs proper air con and i set one up in my room blowing exactly into the open side of my case. in 2 minutes the cpu dropped to something ridiculous like 20 and the motherboard registered at 4 degrees on the asus utility, however reliable that is haha
