EDIT// Actually I like the 0800 Reverse advert with Holly Vallence. I'm british but not bitter and twisted, I'll prove it to her if needs be ;)

EDIT2// The new Esure advert is also classic CALM DOWN DEARS!

The cool honda ad - the one with everything falling into place.

And the cool Passat ad - the one with the cool getaway driver.

And the FRANK ad - the one where they get a swat team to arrest a mother for talking to her son about drugs.

And the Smirnoff Autocue ad.

And I can't be bothered to watch the video. We (ie me) without broadband find it hard to do anything without it taking an hour!

I hate the Smirnoff adverts. In fact, it's got to the stage now where if I see that guy in the Smirnoff ads, I change the channel. Can't stand him. Also the Bacardi ads. They just annoy me by being totally stereotypical. The Carlsberg adverts at least have a bit of humour to them!

In terms of good ads, the Honda advert wins, no questions asked! It's simply incredible.

didnt it take 170+ takes to shoot it?

"The sequence of events in the advert is actually split into two shots - shooting the whole thing in one go would have been too expensive. "

"Having said that, the shoot was still a major feat of technical planning. The two minute ad took six months to plan and almost a week to film. The production needed over 600 takes, 20 sets of alloy wheels, 10 bonnets, 15 pots of paint and two handmade pre-production models of the new Honda Accord. One was used for the final shot and the other was taken apart for the bits you see crashing into each other. "

"For example, the sequence where the tyres roll up a slope looks particularly impressive but is very simple. Steiner says that there is a weight at the bottom of the tyre and when the tyre is knocked, the weight is displaced and in an attempt to rebalance itself, the tyre rolls up the slope.

In another sequence some bolts skim across the surface of a table and drop on to a see-saw. The technicians had to ensure that there was exactly the right amount of oil on the surface. "It was trial and error as to how much oil was put there because it had to slow the pace down for them not to shoot off the edge," says Steiner"

The honda advert is called "cog"

"The sequence of events in the advert is actually split into two shots - shoting the whole thing in one go would have been too expensive. "

Erm, Honda said it was cos the room simply wasnt big enough for the entire thing to fit :P So they split it into 2 and joined it using computer :p
