Well, I have surfaced again. I have just learned how to publish photos in the internet, so I can make links. I have been trying out F1C again, having updated some tracks (these updates are 30-40 mbs each!:-o). That's 3 times the size of a track wad in Gp4. There is good and bad in everything. Good in Gp4 is the speedy performance with a good rig and you can use x4 aa and 16AF and the FPS /PO stay at the same level. So the GP4 pictures below do not have saw edges etc. The Mclaren helmets I found for F1C are superb (see for yourself) and the updated track graphics (Serialmike/JP Peters and Tantra) are trully fanstastic. notice how the sun lights up the canopy in the brazil shot.
Speaking of Brazil, once you've driven it with F1C (bumps like hell ff / graphics/head physics), GP4 seems awfully tame. If you find F1C too hard (wooden wheels on ice, as some say), put stability assistance on high, and it drives as easily as Gp4. The graphics for racing are well.... just about tolerable, but Gp4's AI rules. Anyway, let's see if my screenie links work:

Brazil F1C (serialmike)

Brazil GP4 (Lampert)

F1C Sepang

GP4 sepang (Lampert)

F1C Monaco new T1(Tantra)

GP4 Monaco T1 (here you can see how good the building textures are)

F1C the new swimming pool bit (Tantra)

Can anyone make such a good helmet for Gp4 The other helmets in F1C are only slightly better than Gp4's. These Mclaren helmets are really very good work.

Because your host does not allow direct linking. They are in your temp internet files therefore you can see them, but we can not because they arent in our temp files

F1C too hard?

Only if you drive GP4 with steering help.

Turn off the aids, and GP4 becomes a challenge.

I love it when people come out and say they've just drove a great lap in GP4, then they say that they use 15% steering help. It's hilarious.

Whaaaaaaaaaaat?!

I don't see why the helemt from F1C is better than GP4's!

Gp4's helemt modelling is a way beeeeeeeeeeetter!

The one of the reason that I really don't play F1C is that crap helmet shape!

I cann't agree with you, LarryM

PS: I cann't see any sh** from your post. You gotta change your webhost!

Ok, Ok. Sorry. I'm still learning. I gotta change something in the setup.
I don't use aids in Gp4 by the way. Well Tc lately to compete in the Hotlap comp. F1c is much harder without aids. I'll see If I can fix the pictures, and then you can tell me about how GP4's helmet's are better ;)

The comparasin's cant be made between these two, they r 2 diffrent games altogether. It can be argued that whilst gp4 cant be edited as easy as F1c, track editing and so forth, that not all tracks released for f1c and f12002 are good, as a matter of fact only a handfull are as polished as the original tracks included.

The ai is without a doubt very good in gp4, but they r still not human, where as u can race online in the f1200x series, (as long as u have a good connection).

As far as handiling is concerned, gp4 is different because the cars are actually ON the track, where as EA have tried to get the handiling as good as they can even though the cars r never actually connected to the track. It really is an endless debate, but perhaps a better comparison could be made to incorparate both games' "pro's" instead of just pointing out the cons, and creating a new game. :)

As far as pic comparisons r concerned, this is a "touched up" pic from the gtr2002 mod for f12002, and i think that it looks pretty good. If u go to the screenshots section in this forum and go near the botoom u will see my gp4 pics. Feel free to make any comments u wish. :)

Yes, at least I can see them now LarryM.

In general I think GP4 wins. But they are almost the same. One thing that GP4 graphics looses by a large marge is the skies. Geez they are horrible when compared to F1C.

The graphics around the track in Gp4 has more datails but the F1C car (and helmet) for me looks more real.

One thing that pisses me off in Gp4 too is the driver arm. Take a look at monaco picture. I think that arm is the same since GP2. :P
But at the tack graphics GP4 wins.

One thing there's no comparision is the computer AI and the game play. GP4 rox.

Detail varies from track to track. Monaco is much more detailed in Gp4. In sepang the updated track has much better grass etc and the grandstand roof is much finer and more detailed. Brazil ahs some really good textures in the F1Cupdated version. Also lighting is more realistic on some tracks in F1c. It's being in the car where it wins- the feeling (ff) and the head physics together with the shaking of the car. It's all an illusion, but so good. ;9
