I know how it feels. :( My carburator control cable did break a few years ago - couldn't go anywhere, too.

Well I did a similar thing a few weeks ago at karting.

Cooked the clutch after I had to brake hard when I was going flat out to avoid a kart that spun in the middle of the corner.

thats a bummer korn.

today, i drove to work at asda, and i had hot steaming liquid dripping onto my pedals and onto the drivers side floor!!!

it smells and i think it is coolant!

that is not good, and in the manual it said it could be either:

a) a blown cylinder head gasket

or

b) a cracked cylinder head!!!

this aint good, as i am a courier driver so need my little pug 106 van.

only yesterday i was racking up the miles doing 414 miles on a round trip to liverpool

I am sure Jon will be very happy right now!

Fcarmo: I don't compete in championships, I just race karts for fun but I always do it seriously on the track. But if I got the money then I could take part in a championship or some races.

lucky you korn.

i have a leank coming from beneath the dashboard = means a dashboard/steering column removal job, and that is tricky

i am utterly pissed off

Is the engine underneath the seats? If it is, it could be something as simple as the air conditioning system leaking. At least get it diagnosed by a mechanic before you pull it apart.

Trust me, I used to be a mechanic. I've seen how much it can cost if somebody tries to do it themselves when they have no idea what to do.

No Powerhorse knows lots about cars I'm sure he'll be fine. Though is that in your Metro.

air conditioning system In Aussie air con is just the cooling part, the refrigerator bit. I think if you have a leak inside the cabin its one of two things. Water from outside getting in, eg broken windscreen or door seal or rust, or it's a leak in one of the pipes to the heater. Well the mini radiator that the air blows through and the water from the motor (which gets warm after a while) gets pumped through.

You'd really know it if you had a cracked head.

no dont wory guys, it is not a cracked cylinder head or blown head gasket - thats what the manual just said it mught be

engine is fine, no 'mayonaise' in the oil etc.

it is the heater matrix underneath the dashboard. this uses the engines coolant for the heating in the car.

psL i dont have aircon.

it is probably just a pipe leak in a bloody awkward place under dashboard.
