First stone to track editing

I worked many hours to find how to did it but i got it :
I built an editor that can edit tracks, cars, tyres or any gp4 shape and save them to new working .gp4 files.
Yep.
For now, only one editing feature: Texture assignment. But that allows to edit texture shape per shape !
More to come, of course and i think we will discover some bugs as i only tried it with 1 tyre(front lod0), 1 carshape(jaguar lod0) and 2 tracks (monza and melbourne).

Well, as usual, just clic on my banner below to come on my site to grab it.
(be aware that it seems there's a strong memory use with that tool, around 200Mb ! I will look at it soon but i worked during 3 days to bring you the app working so i can't fix it right now.)

Anyhow, Enjoy :)

great, for your sake, and for everyones really, Lo2k, continue, debate, and development in this forum

its been the hub of track editing since paul released the track editor for gp2, its been quiet recently because tehre hasnt been much to say, but theres a lot of cleaver people there, who can help you, more than any here (bug solving, unk sorting, code sorting, etc etc) apart from jon probably, im sure bigears and a few other TE forum visitors will second my vote, we need a hub for the Car edit/track edit comunity to make fast progress, and good progess, and this place that has always happend, as we dont have one atm, and traditionally this has been it....

Don't worry, Variante_ascari, I very weel know Ricardo, so he is aware about it, as Bruno, our dear webmaster ;) and Addie Walti, that some of you might knows for it's great GP3 work on track structure.

To Andrew_S, yep i know this forum, i came when i was trying some track editing with GP3. but I'm not sure it's a better place, as my "job" is rather focused on 3D than on .dat files for the moment.
Anyhow, I'm in touch with Addie Walti to be able to build a full track editor one day, managing graphical and physical parts of tracks.

I agree with you Andy!

Seriously Addie is a genius in track editing. I do hope that the track editors and Lo2k will work together and get a working track editor.

Honestly where is Paul? Has anyone contacted him or what?

As you maybe saw on the first post of this thread (wich is linked to my site), i released a new 3DEditor version.

What's new:
- better memory management (should never use more than 160Mb of RAM now)
- true instant texture replacement (this time:)
- objects can now be moved (still beta)

hope it will please you.
