the only way is to change the win video or soemrhing

at first glance, i dont think its possible to have videos for other then 1st 2nd 3rd. coz in the exe theres no more room for more videos :o

Surely if there's an entry in the exe to trigger a 1st 2nd or 3rd place video, then its possible to modify it to trigger an external module/script... i.e. a scipted podium ceremony! It would take far too much time and effort to do this however, so I pretty much doubt we'll see it, but I think it is possible!

no, coz it will be like this...

if (playerpos = 1)
{
play('/menudata/1st';);
}
else
play 2nd
else
play 3rd

end;

cant change it :P

I know it'll be something like that, but it should be possible to patch them 3 lines of code so it will do something else!;

if (playerpos = 1)
{
run 'script1';
}
else
run 'script2';
else
run 'script3';

end;

Unless this code is protected!... It is also possible to wrap these 'scripts' into videos... so when they are played, the wrapped code is run. I think it is possible!

well if you can change the movies, then you can knock a poduim up, render it and record it as a movie, problem solved

The only problem with that would be the fact that the drivers in the movies would have to be generic!

For a proper 22 driver possibility, each with their team colours, flag and national anthem, you would have to change the code.

this is impossibe, either make a podium movie or dont have it, gp4 just plays the corresponding movie for your position. nothing else

Yuo cant patch the code can you? You cant backwards compile so you can see the raw code, so you cant do this can you?

There are decent decompilers for everything, except c++! There are ones for c++ that work, but they are supposed by be very buggy, or can only access parts of the code. People are working on it though, could happen any time... when it does, just imagine the possibilities!!! The game can be completely changed to 2003 rules!! :) I for one, would be able to give it a go, although C++ isn't my best language! Not that disimilar to Java though!

To add to that... i'm assuming GP4 is written in C++... if it's something like Java or C i'd be pleasently surprised!

About the podium, just put Mike Schumacher on the 1st place as he is always there ;)
